A great well made easy to use product from the UK. What more do you want?

Worked OK for a week
This machine was bought specifically for its professed ability to resume from where you previously closed down, which it did do for about a week and now it just goes back to chapter 3 or 4 after closing the previous section at chapter 30 or 31. Very very disappointed

Earplugs
Audio books was the reason for purchase but hate the earplugs - hurt to put in ears

Doesnβt work.
Stuttering playback, really useless. Sent it back. Waste of time, packaging and transport resources.

Decent portable CD player with built-in speakers
This Denver portable CD player comes in black or white - I chose the black one (the white one is a little more expensive for some reason). Also included are instructions, wired earphones with a clip and extra silicone earbuds should the default ones be the wrong size for you. The earphones are OK but I prefer to use my own as I find solid earbuds more comfortable and less tinny than silicone earbuds. The player only has a standard 3.5mm headphone port so you can't use USB-C headphones. The player is easy to operate. It runs on two AA batteries or a 4.5V DC power supply. You have to provide these yourself, which I was a little disappointed with. It's fair enough that batteries aren't included but I would have thought that for the price at the very least a USB cable should have been included. The lid flips up easily and high enough to be able to get CDs in and out comfortably. There's a card in there for protection during shipping so naturally that has to be removed before putting a CD in. It handles regular CDs as well as CD-Rs and CD-RW discs, and supports mp3 playback. Unfortunately, some of my older CD-Rs don't play anymore, but this is the fault of the discs, not the player. The ones that do play work perfectly. The display is clear and the buttons are clearly labelled. All the controls are on the top except the volume dial, bass boost switch and the slider to open the lid, which are on the edge. The built-in speakers are small so even with the bass boost they aren't that punchy, but the sound is much better when connected to a soundbar or some decent headphones. Still, it is useful to have the built-in speakers, especially when listening to audiobooks, which is what I am mainly using the player for.Build quality seems pretty good - the player doesn't feel premium but neither does it feel cheap, it's well designed and well constructed. The casing is solid enough, it has some weight to it and the buttons and switches all operate effectively. It does seem a little expensive, especially with the added cost of the white version, but overall I am happy with the performance of this player. I haven't shaken it excessively but it hasn't skipped on me when I tried it on the train or carried it from room to room, so it's certainly portable enough and the anti-skip feature is adequately good for my purposes. I've had personal CD players that were far worse so I am very happy with this one.
