Q: Is this a warm jacket for winter weather?

Yes. I am from Florida and have worn this jacket in the state of Washington during winter and rain and it kept me warm. I was surprised because it is very light weight. I was in temperatures in the 30s and felt jacket was sufficient.

Yes, I would. This jacket went over my warm clothes. And I was able to zip up.

Q: I bought from another company a 3xl and it didnt fit. 5'4" 270 lbs. Would a 4xl work?

I’m not sure but I bought XL and am 5’10” and weigh 205 and it had a good 4 to 5 inches extra room inside. So fit big on me and went down past hips. Hope that helps!
