It really does do the job advertised, soaking water and mud off people's shoes more effectively than your average doormat. It keeps mud tracks out of the hallway in winter.However, it is not without its problems.(1) it is small. In all honesty it should be a little longer--I have two side-by-side.(2) In order for it to work, you have to "pre-wash" without detergent or etc. It states that this is to be done in the washing machine. It did not warn me that after this process it would look like someone shaved a dozen small woodland animals inside my washer! After one wash with this item, I had to unclog the drain and spend 30 minutes scraping hair off the inside of the drum. This is not an exaggeration. I found out after the fact that people have had to call plumbers and washer repairmen after washing this item. (After seeing what it did to my washer there was no way I was going to put it in the dryer on low as recommended--I let it air-dry.) There is a lot of residual fluff after washing. It seems to be shedding at first, but this effect goes away in short order, leading me to suspect it is just loose fiber from the washing process.

I like these rugs. Yes, this carpet sheds some at first, but not terrible...I vacuumed it a couple of times and that seemed to take care of the problem.It does trap dirt and mud. We have had multiple rain storms recently that put the rugs to the test and I can report that I have had to sweet up wet leaves and debris once since these have been down and honestly it was because my husband didn't wipe his feet before tracking through the kitchen....I would recommend them and would buy again.

These work exactly as I expected and I love them. They are easy to clean if you go by the included instructions. They pick up the debris that tends to come in on the bottom of my shoes and help keep my entryways cleaner. They are just the right size for my small house and do not interfere with the opening of the doors at all. They have not left any markings on my floors.I've owned these for a several months and washed them at least three times each. Although there is some fluff that comes off during the washing, it's only minor like that of very new towels, and the rubber bottom is still in excellent shape. Again, follow the washing instructions: wash in cold water only with no detergent and fluff dry a bit in the dryer.I liked these so much I bought one for my parents and one for my son for their front doorways.

A friend has these rugs in their RV. I thought she was crazy telling me how the rugs trap dirt. We have very light carpet in the RV, so decided to give them a try. And, to my surprise, They Work!!! Or at least they sure do help to keep dirt out. They are small. I put the 2 side by side as you come in the door. With grandkids running in and out, they sure do help. In fact, I didn't realize how much dirt they did trap until I took them outside to shake them. The dirt went flying!!!

We use these to catch stray clay litter as the cats jump out of their litter boxes onto a wood floor. The do well catching a lot of the litter, the only downside is initially when you first get them you have to follow instructions on washing them before use and they shed like crazy. Eventually the shedding stops and they last for years even machine washing them regularly.

This product seemed to work as advertised. The amount of dirt that was being tracked into the house from the garage and deck has been greatly reduced. Be sure to following the instructions which direct you wash and dry the mat before use. If the price was a bit lower, I would have given this product 5 stars.

I first purchased these mats and discovered with our large dog it took two to make sure all four of her paws hit the mat after coming in. She can take large strides so one long mat gets two of her paws and the second get the other two. Then I purchased some of the mats for our trailer so all I do when camping is shake off the mat outside every day and the inside of travel trailer stay dirt free easier. I also have purchased a small set for my mom for her small dog. The mats work!

You have to WASH these before they work, supposedly, and then dry them for a short time in the dryer or hang to dry. These things DO NOT wash well in my heavy duty washer. I finally had to take them out for fear that my washer would stop working. I let them them drip dry outside, but they were still damp the next day, so I tried to put them in the dryer. They shredded like crazy and then MY DRYER STOPPED WORKING. YIKES! I let the dryer rest for a day, then hand spun the drum to re-set the drum. Won't buy these again- They are shedding already on the floor.
