ONNpersonal/portable CD player with FM radio

I ordered two of these. The packaging had been cut open and then Scotch-taped back together on both units. One unit turned on but could not read any disks and the earphones would not function with any device. The other one seems to function fine so far. I am keeping the working unit and returning the defective unit. These clearly are not new products but are not advertised as used. I bought them for a road trip so my kids can read along to audiobooks and I can use a USB cord to plug into a car adapter rather than using up tons of batteries. It does seem that the functioning unit will work for this purpose, but according to other reviewers and my own experience, it's hit or miss whether you'll get a functioning unit. Luckily I ordered these ahead of time and should have time to return the defective unit and reorder another which will hopefully work. For my specific purpose and this price point, this is all I could find, so I guess t's worth the hassle but still annoying. Time will have to tell how long and how well the functioning unit functions.

It tethers me to a set of headphones and there is not an alternative, but I like the CD player over all. I wish I knew how to hook it into one of the sound block speakers....but I suppose on a budget you cannot have everything.

First one didn’t work as promised but the 2nd one works perfectly. Highly recommend,
