Jefferson at his Best- Well, Maybe Not His VERY Best
Well there WAS that Declaration of Independence thing. Put this was a surprisingly enjoyable , readable and informative book about the state of Virginia which gave ample evidence of the analytic mind of Jefferson. Invests euro when so many of us seem to hold people liable for having opinions that are socially out of date today, I found it surprising to see opinions from Jefferson on the slavery issue which appeared to be very progressive. This is especially so considering that these opinions are nearly 2 and a 1/2 centuries old. It would be a good idea to keep in mind that even in some of the opinions which would not be at all acceptable today were acceptable to many people not that long ago.Jefferson covers plenty of ground, much of it fascinating in describing his state. Glad I read it.

Founding Father Sets the Tone for Racial Division
I used this book for pertinent information on the divisions in our country. Jefferson creates language around African people that develops into tropes used to support racism.

Notes on the state of Virginia
This is a little dryer than I thought it would be. Very factual and less personal. I did find information about the incident I was interested in so was worth my purchase.

A good informative read
It gave me some good insight into the mind of Thomas Jefferson and the area of Virginia he called home

A more penetrating look at Thomas Jefferson
This document testifies to Thomas Jefferson's true opinions on Africans as a race of people, which was denigrating and coarse. One can compare his writing on the freedoms in the new American republic and his pride in them as a founding patriot, with what he thought of slaves and their intellectual and cultural capacities to function as free people in a free society. He offers a solution to issues around emancipation that would involve deporting all people of African descent, and replacing them by attracting people of the white race to leave their countries and come to America. Jefferson also writes that he fears for the effects that the brutality of the practice of slavery will have on the future of America, as well as God's wrath.

Valuable Revolution Era Legal and Historical Work
As an avid stdent of the American Revoultion and political liberty I was delighted to find a reprint of Jefferson's book at such a reasonable price. This book is divided into Queries instead of chapters. The first part dealt with natural and geographical facts of Virginaia and was moderately interesting. The later part that dealt with the Virginia constitution, current (1780s) Virginia laws, slavery, and money/taxes was especially interesting. I was glad that Jefferson regarded slavery as a "moral and political evil" that must be ended. I especially enjoyed Querys number 17-22. This is a very valuable study on the situation in early American by one of her greatest Patriots ever. Highly recommended.

America's first archaeologist
This man was a genius and would have been in Mensa (top 2% of IQ) or Intertel (top 1% of IQ). He invented, led, inspired, organized, learned, and left our world changed for the better. This is one of the most important books ever written about our country. Dr. Diane Holloway Cheney

Go ahead and read it, I dare you.
I love it for many reasons. The first one is that it was free for me! Secondly, it is in my time period of study. It is a primary source of a President and of properties, etc. There are things that we may not think of as accurate now, but for his time, he was not only accurate in thought, but also scientifically. This is his opinions bound up for us. Even if you do not like his politics, it is an interesting read. You will find out that he really was a Diest! Gasp! Not what is being said about him now. Go ahead and read it, I dare you.

Read it!
I don't agree with some of Jefferson's views – who does nowadays. Nevertheless it's essential reading for researchers into US history. You can skip some of the out of date geographical bits.

Ich hatte ihn in dem Vorurteils (im weiteren ad-hoc- Modell) durchI have seen the DPG abstract onFirst numerical results towards a 3D MHD equilibrium solver via artificial relaxation mechanisms Poster contribution to the DPG BremenIn this context your might be interested in the attached paper by Chodura and Schlüter (it is actually widely referenced, among others in books by Garabedian and by Hackbusch.SalveIs the Mathieu-type parametric drive an alternative explanation for the RMP-action on modes, respectively for the resonant mode amplification?• The mode frequency is ½ the frequency of the modulation frequency.
