Good Adjustability and Flows Well
We have a single 8x14 vent that feeds heating and cooling to our family room. Our house is older and for whatever reason one of the previous owners had installed a non-adjustable return-style vent at a supply location. I wanted a vent that would direct the flow from this vent to the middle of the room and flow well. This register fits the bill. The two sets of louvers allow flow adjustment in two directions. The inner louvers can also be use to shut off the flow of air from the vent. The larger outer cured louvers efficiently redirect the air along the long dimension of the register. The overall design works very well.A couple comments on other reviews. Some have mentioned the metal is thin. I find the thickness to be appropriate for a wall/ceiling register. Keep in mind it is made from aluminum and not steel. You will be able to bend it by over tightening or excessive force. The louver movement is stiff, but I find this is a benefit. The stiff movement will prevent the register from loosing its position with gravity and airflow over time. It also prevents rattling. I also don't expect to change the louver direction very often. I did have to spend about 30 minutes adjusting the duct opening and drywall opening for the vent. My duct opening was uneven and this register has a relatively tight clearance to the duct dimensions. This register is a little more expensive then what you might find at the big box stores, but it has the features I wanted in the less common size I needed. The quality also seems better that what you would get off the shelf at HD or Lowes.

Good item but if order multiples most likely will come dented
I got these to replace linear type of vents that where on the house I bought. The linear vents are unidirectional and only shoot air down if vent on ceiling. These were perfec and I can now aim the air conditioning towards center of any room. I ordered 3 and 2 came dented because the aluminum is very pliable. Despite the wrapping when you have too many in a box they bang together likely and get damaged. Company’s should do better job in shipping and place each day one in a box on top of the bubble wrap. Also one vent had issues with the paint. It was not painted properly. See pictures.

Icing on the cake of my expensive ductwork upgrade!
Recently I updated all my attic duct work to R6 flex. Replacing the old fixed registers was a no brainer but I wanted a quality product that allowed for variables in the direction of airflow. This product had all of the qualities in a good build, nice finish and taunt vains that were strong and would stay in place where I aimed them. Each room required variations due to how it was used and where you'd most want the flows to go. In other rooms, it was possible to set part of the vain down toward a bed but to than have the majority aimed to the back of the room where I would sit. They're perfect and all I needed to do was to back each with sufficient weather seal to further increase efficiency. Something you'd want to do with any of these registers. Anyway, they are substantial, look great and well designed to put the air in several locations out of the same vent. Could not be more happy!Icing on my expensive ductwork upgrade and upgrading the fixed, 30 year old ones with this is like stepping into the year 2050. Efficiency and comfort all while saving buckets of money by putting the air where you want it! Hot, who knew you could get excited about an Air Vent, dog!-G

Just okay for the cost, nothing great, consider others
For diffusers that are fairly expensive, they are nothing great! I would not purchase these again. The same thin stamped metal construction as the rest- though these appear to be powder coated, and most of the others are painted. The powder coating actually makes it difficult to open to close the louvers- you have to work them a few times. The ones I received were actually slightly bent due to shipping and poor packaging. They claim each one is hand inspected- I find that difficult to believe (certainly the louvers on each one isn't open and closed by hand). If you want something of real quality, check out Atlanta Supply. They have architectural grade diffusers (their commercial line) made of aluminum that are of much higher quality and only slightly more expensive. They are beautifully made, heavy duty with weatherstripping inside. They have a positive open and close function as well.

Be aware…
Be careful, this is made of thin gauge metal. The quality is OK but don’t use an electric screwdriver all the way. Leave the last couple of turns to do carefully by hand. Otherwise the register will bend. Also, be aware that the mechanism to open and close these sometimes (depending on who fitted your duct work originally) didn’t fit the opening. Having dome 13 of these in one day, It seems to me that each register fitting is unique. Be prepared to use your initiative. The vertical ones are the most difficult to work on given the angle of attack. Other than that I am pleased with the end result. Quieter and better air flow.

The item DOES NOT match the pictures!
I ordered two of these aluminum vents as alternatives to the steel ones you can by in regular stores. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed that they came defective and not as shown at the pictures. The website pictures show front and rear blades made perpendicular to each other. The vents that I received have them set parallel to each other. The lever on the front side controls only rear blades and again, does not match the website pictures. Front blades are so incredibly stiff and tight, that it is almost impossible to manually adjust them. The whole construction DOES NOT work or look right. Moreover, both vents have scuffs and scratches, as if they were used. NOT WHAT I EXPECTED. Started return process immediately.
