Travel and Bump
I am using this for tutoring a 3rd grader and a 6th grader. The 3rd grader's school system uses this book. I like it very much. It puts stress on just writing...not slants and perfection. I find that will come later. I learned the old slant way and told both students I want to see beautiful handwriting, and I think that will come. The 6th grader who seems to be skipped over on cursive at his school it very excited to learn it now. His school doesn't seem to push cursive because of computers, but (my opinion) I think that is big mistake. His teacher told his class..."You can write in cursive if you want to, but print if your cursive is not good."I like the language this book uses and the way they tech the magic c and travel and bump. Right on there level....both of them.

Mysterious
My son used to hate practicing his printing. I mean, HATE. He wanted to learn cursive, though, so I bought this for him in his second grade year (we home school). He not only enjoys it, it is truly teaching him cursive writing quickly and efficiently (and with almost no input from me). I don't really understand why or how, because I remember learning cursive writing as an arduous and boring process when I was in elementary school. It is apparently neither arduous nor boring for my son, though, using this book. It is a very simple, clear, self-directed approach, though, and it seems to work very well. Definitely a good purchase.

Awesome for a student trying to learn cursive whatever age!
I got this for my daughter, whose school taught the old school loopy cursive that is basically illegible anyway, so she has started this in grade 6 and is speeding through it and her cursive is so much better and it can be read easily by her teacher. Cursive is so much easier than print to write at speed, but the old fashioned type is so archaic and more time consuming, so I highly recommend these books for up to 6th grade for sure. I also got the blue cover book from Amazon too - we’re working on that next!If your child’s school doesn’t teach cursive at all, then this book series is exactly what you’re looking for!

No tears but lots of smiles
Kids think of cursive as a secret adult writing and want to learn it. I used this book for my 3rd and 4th graders as recommended by the district Dyslexic Specialist. It's good for all learners. My kiddos loved it! This was their starter some days and one of their early finisher activities. I required students to use a different colored pencil each time to help me monitor their work + it helps with visual stimulation and mind mapping (aka udl strategies).

Great book, easy to use
My six and seven year old girls used the same company's books to learn printing and loved them. They begged me recently to find something to teach them cursive. I bought two copies of this book and my girls don't want to put their copy down. I have to limit the amount of pages they work on a day or else we'd never get through all the home school subjects in a day. This is a great book for homeschoolers. I highly recommend!

Well organized for easier instruction
Unlike another cursive workbook I bought for my 8 year old, this book is organized in terms of difficulty of making the letters. Like it starts with C and then shows you how the same shape is in an A, then a D, etc. B, which is different and more difficult is later in the book. It also has you connecting letters (like caa) so they pick up the idea easier. My 8 year old son HATES handwriting, and cursive is pure torture for him. He saw the cover and said "handwriting without tears, I doubt it." That said, when he practices in this workbook, he complains less. I think it's because it's starting with easier letters and moving on to more complex ones once he feels more confident.

Great Handwriting Book
This book is one of many in a GREAT series. I have bought books at various levels of the Handwriting Without Tears series for each of my kids, and each of them has been excellent. The cursive handwriting book is perfect for my third/soon-to-be-fourth grader. She loves working in it, and it is probably the best way for her to learn cursive writing, since cursive, and handwriting in general, has taken a back seat in her public school. I highly recommend this book.
