Want a quiet rowing machine with actual resistance - you found it.
TL:DR - Easy to assemble and good build quality meets really quiet magnetic drive for a great workout with various resistance levels that actually offer up some real resistance - all at a price that won't make you cancel buying that Steam Deck you really wanted...I've owned this rower for about 2 months now and I've logged just over 25,000 strokes at this point. I have to say that I'm extremely pleased with the rowing machine at this point. I live in a complex with neighbors and roommates, and as such, I was looking for a rowing machine that would be quiet. I knew I'd end up going magnetic, and if you've been searching, you know this to be a pretty crowded field of products. A lot of them claim to be quiet while also offering diverse levels of resistance. Then, if you are like me, you start combing the reviews - tossing the ones that read like bots - and trying to get down to the real experiences. I'l try and break my review in the following categories: Assembly, Build Quality, Actual Use, Value. I should also point out that I've never circumnavigated the globe in a row boat, nor have I rowed up *insert impossible river to row* or any other such nonsense. So my opinion of rowing machines is purely limited to using a few concept machines at various gyms and owning 1 belt driven fan type home rowing machine. In other words, I'm just a normal user.Assembly: I'm giving this machine 5 stars. I was able to assembly the rowing machine in under an hour and with no problems or headaches. The instructions are clear and the included tools are more than adequate to assemble the machine. Obviously, having your own socket wrench will make things easier, but it's not required. The box was packed nicely and there's several metal support pieces that are used to ensure that no damage occurs during shipping. My unit arrived safely with no damage. The whole box is maybe 4.5 ft long and about a 1.5 ft deep. It weighs about 70-75 lbs. Obviously having two people to move it is recommended, but I was able to move it around myself with no issues.Build Quality: Another 5 stars here. After completing the assembly and using the product the for about 2 months, I can genuinely say that the build quality is excellent for the price. I've had zero mechanical issues with the magnetic drive system, the seat assembly, foldable design, or the row bar/nylon mesh band. The foot pads are probably the only weak point here. The plastic is pretty thin and I could see if someone got a little crazy or careless moving the unit that these could be a point of failure. But honestly, the foot pads are usually the weirdest/weakest part of most rowing machines - even on units that cost twice or triple as much as this one. So it's nothing I'd ding a star for.Actual Use: Here's where this rowing machine really shines for me. I needed something quiet and that could offer up some actual resistance. Let's tackle quiet first. This thing is incredible. I had a fan belt rower previous to this machine and I couldn't even block out the sound using noise cancelling headphones it was so loud. Forget about using it with roommates or with neighbors - instant noise complaints. But this machine is so quiet! I can literally watch TV and get a workout in without having to adjust the TV volume from where I usually have it. If I put my headphones in to listen to music - I don't even have to activate the noise cancellation. Yes, it's that quiet. I does make noise, to be clear, but it's basically just the sound of the seat moving along the metal bar. Now let's tackle the resistance quickly. While the description says 16 resistance levels - I'd put it to you that it's really more like 4 levels. I say this because I can't really tell the difference between resistance levels inside a factor of 4. For example changing from level 2 to level 3 - I can't really feel the difference. But if I change from level 4 to level 9 - that I can feel. This isn't a real criticism , and someone else might be able to feel the finer resistance adjustments. Regardless, this unit is exactly what I wanted. I tend to start a workout at level 4 for warmup - then I'll move into about level 10 for the bulk of the rowing, say about 25 mins. I'll push up to the highest resistance for about 10 mins, before dropping back into level 4 for the cool down. By the time I'm hitting that full resistance cycle, my legs are burning up pretty good. My previous rowing machine offered 10 levels of resistance and they all felt the same. So this machine is a massive improvement over that and actually offers up some real resistance, which is good if you're looking to add a little strength training into your cardio cycles.Value: Let's wrap this up with value. I'll just be honest here because I don't know if I got this unit at a sale price or not. I'm not sure what price you are seeing as you look at this item now - but I got my unit for under $300 and that's including a high tax rate in my state. So value gets another 5 stars from me as I could have easily spent twice that and probably gotten something similar in terms of quality. All in all - I couldn't be happier with how this purchase turned out.Wrap up: After about 2 months - I couldn't be happier. This machine is solid and very quiet. The resistance levels are good and the value is pretty incredible considering some rowing machines can set you back $1400. It's worth noting I'm just below average height and I'm pretty average weight. So if you are 6'7" or something - your mileage may vary.EDIT: I forgot to mention - the LCD display is basically useless. Looks like an old school Casio watch display. I don’t ding a star for this as in my case I’m using a fitness watch with a rowing activity to track distance based on pulls and calories etc.

Decent Rower for the Price
Normally, I work out in my garage, but living in the north, that gets unpleasant in the winter. I bought this rower to provide a decent alternative for inside workouts, and for that, it's been great.Assembly was straightforward--this is not a complex machine, and the directions were perfectly adequate.I was worried about two things:1. Inadequate resistance for a decent workout--this has not been a problem. I'm 5'10", 200 lbs, and I'm in decent shape and reasonably strong. No difficulty getting my heart rate up or working up a good sweat on this machine.2. That the machine would be too short for a comfortable stroke--so all else being equal, a larger machine IS more comfortable to row on, but this is perfectly adequate, and I don't feel cramped or as though there's any danger of injury from altering my form. Also, this machine folds up small enough that I can actually find a place to store it in a smallish apartment, which would not be true of a larger machine like a Concept2.I've had this for almost 3 months, and I row 3-4X week, 30-45 minutes. No problems with durability so far, and as long as this thing lasts until it warms up, I'll consider it money well spent. Would definitely recommend using some thread-locker during assembly to make sure the bolts don't work loose, but that's just a good general practice.Summary: This is NOT a high-end rower--something like a Concept2 is functionally superior in every respect except ease of storage. However, the DMASUN is 5X cheaper, and is more than adequate for getting a decent workout. As a magnetic rower, it is also very quiet, which is a definite plus for a lot of folks.

Not Perfect. But I Still Love It
So i owned my Dmasun Rowing Machine since August. I upgraded after my stationary bike broke. I read some good things about rowing machines from kind strangers on a fitness forum so i made my mind and decided to look for a rowing machine i can afford but is not cheap. So I found this Dmasun i didnt want something beginner friendly because I wanted something serious and something made of good material and built sturdy and I found this here Dmasun. Since i ordered it until now i developed a lot of lateral muscle width and these were results i wanted- cardio and building muscle at the same time it's a perfect combo. Now my title says it's Not Perfect. Here are things i dont like about the Dmasun Rowing Machine1) - Slides Across My Wooden Floor2) - Foot Pedal And It's Adjustable Strap3) - Onboard Computer4) - Gliding Seat Across The Rail1) The machine weighs 50 pounds that's good for storage and setting up but because it weighs 50 pounds and I weigh a little over triple that amount the machine inevitably slides on my wooden floors sometimes i'd slide back with each stroke sometimes if slide forward. After a week I decided i can treat this problem by anchoring it down using my pair of 40 and 30 pound dumbells by laying them over the front stand and placing the others in front of the machine.2) The foot pedal lip hurts the back of my foot with each push back motion and the adjustable strap sands away at the top of my feet. Don't go barefoot or you will get injured and skin your foot like i did and it hurt a lot. I don't want to wear my junker shoes to Row because they're gross and dirty too dirty to filthy up my Dmasun, which i love, with. I wouldn't wear my nice Nikes either because they'll just get ruined. So now I wear socks preferably thick socks when i row so my foot doesn't get skinned by the strap or by the bottom lip of the foot rest. The Strap is made of what feels like the same material as a seatbelt i wish it was made of leather instead and had better support like a sandal or maybe if it just tied to my ankles instead to keep me in place when i row back3) The onboard computer is nice but really wish it was LED so its easier to see and read4) The seat is very comfortable and doesn't hurt my tailbone like my stationary bike seat used to. So i'm very happy with comfort but when I row and glide up and down the rail it's noisy and sounds like metal being rubbed firmly. I wear headphones when i row so i don't notice it because my music but i'd feel like rowing would wake up someone at home if i used my Dmasun too late at nightbut like the title says I still love my Dmasun even tho it is not perfect. I still highly recommend it and i'm happy I decided to bring it into my life. It stores so nicely in the corner of my bedroom too and I can store my pull-up rack on it as well. This Dmasun is not cheap and thats a good thing. Its Definitely affordable and isn't cheaply made either and that's exactly what I wanted when I was shopping for a rowing machine.

Simple and Affordable
So, I have been using this rowing machine for about 3 weeks now. The reason for purchasing it, price, folded, low impact and rowing is an excellent cardio and workout. Like most people said, it took me about an hour to put together...and I was taking my time... Not a fancy display, but I didn't need one. It tells overall time, time to 500m, strokes, distance, calories, spins per minute and a moving diagram of where you are in your stroke...so a little fancy... Overall it feels well made and sturdy, resistance levels are very noticeable and great "bang for the buck", and very little noise when using it, so I am not disturbing others at all. I did have an extremely small issue that was an easy fix. When you are using the machine and the foot rests hit the stop there is a very load "clang". It is the hard plastic of the foot pad hitting the metal stop bar. I figured out a real quick fix...I had an anti-slip mat that I had bought from the dollar store a while back. I just cut a small strip of that off to wrap around the metal stop bar a couple times, taped it into place and now that "clang" is an almost unnoticeable "thud"... When I workout I don't what to have to think about if I am disturbing others in my house...I want to concentrate on my workout. That "clang" would have been a big distraction for me...no longer...I am not removing any stars for that "clang" because it's an easy fix and does not effect the mechanics of the machine at all...it's just a personal thing with me...

Great machine
I bought this for my wife and it arrived on time with no damage. It is very easy to assemble and very easy to use. The machine is quiet and does put out a good amount of resistance. For me I crank it right to the max and for her she keeps it at setting three. The seat is a little small but other than that I love it. I would highly recommend this to anyone. The price point is great.

Compact and quiet
It's compact, relatively quiet and very easy to set up. A tad heavy to bring in, so I just opened the box right on the porch and brought it in piece by piece. Other than that, assembly is a one-person job. I love that it folds up and i can tuck it out of the way.Resistance on it may be weird for those who are used to concept2 types rowers (as I am), as it does not have the "rowing" feel, but still provides a decent workout. Display is basic and does its job, but do not expect bells and whistles.Overall, a decent piece of machinery for its price point.

Great value
Been using this for a few months now, 2-3 times a week. Simple build instructions, and the important wear parts seem to be robust. Other than it being a strapped system (I've yet to have issues), I would'nt be worried about the reliability of this unit. I'm in decent shape, and at maximum resistance, this thing will definetely kick your butt if you're going for longer stints. I usually stick on 13/15 resistance and go for a quick 30 minute session. Truth be told, this is as much rower as your typical home gym owner will need, unless you're a dedicated rower in need of a pro machine. Perfectly suited for HIT or steady cardio work, or warming up. All the stats you'll need to keep track of your performance and progress are displayed (rows per minute, distance, time per 500m, calories, etc)It's also surprisingly quiet, and on pretty hefty nylon rollers that seem replaceable if need be.My only minor complaints are that the screen is a bit dim, and that I had to put a couple of plates on the feet of the rower, at the front, to prevent a slight sway of the machine when doing sprints / high intensity stints. All in all excellent value, simple but will have all you need for 95% of people just looking for a good workout. Delivery was fast and well packaged. Would absolutely buy again.

WoW!........very impressed.
Okay, I bought this item back in February because I desperately needed an exercise method to burn off weight as quick as possible for medical reasons and after speaking to the diet councillor, a rowing machine was shown to be the best indoor exercise method. I shopped around and chose this machine based on popularity, comments and the company's great reputation. It arrived.....took 15 minutes to assemble and I attached the monitor screen and after a short learning curve for setting it up I had my first session. I started on low and took my time. Ten minutes a day for the first week and then on week 2 I was up to 15-20 minutes and up to the 3rd level setting. I set up my tablet on the mounted from holder and used rowing across the lake videos to motivate me. I loved it. I felt great and it was working. Then a problem......one of the seat wheels cracked. I'm fairly big, 6'6'', 340 pounds and figured I was good with the weight rating but I figured it was a faulty part. Went online to try and get a replacement roller but no such luck. I couldn't even find a substitute so I was stuck with a broken machine and no work around to repair it. I tried some makeshift repairs but nothing worked so I put it to the curb and that was that. I put up a less then flattering review and closed the books. Then Nancy from Dmasun sports reached out to me. She explained the issues and situation and then offered me a replacement of my rowing machine. I was floored. I skeptically accepted and within 10 days a replacement showed up at my front door. I set it all up and voila....back in business and very happy with such wonderful customer service and response. I have never had help with a product like this. I am back at my routine and very happy. Thank you Nancy at Dmasun. I will be sure to pass on to everyone your great customer service and your caring solution to my problem. Well done.A year later........used everyday with no issues. Runs beautifully and with the computer screen I installed I can watch TV or view rowing videos as I work out. And the bonus is, between rowing every day and dieting I have lose 180 pounds and my doctor and the specialist are blown away. I may have just avoided some dangerous surgery. I will find out in a few months once I lose the rest of the weight. Thanks again Nancy for all your help and a great, affordable product.
