I’ve always been intrigued by the concept of cleanses to detoxify my body and eliminate all the unhealthy substances I ingest on a daily basis. In addition, I have suffered from bloating and irregular bowel movements for years, so periodic cleanses are a necessity for me. For many years now, I’ve tried a variety of cleanses, in all forms—liquid, powder, gummies and pills. Dr. Vitamin Solutions Professional Cleanse works as well, if not better, than most of the other cleanse products I’ve used in the past. Here are the pros and cons, in my opinion: Pros: 1. Fast Acting and Gentle: The most obvious advantage to this product is the speed in which it works. After 3-4 hours of taking the capsules, I started to feel it working, i.e. cramps. After a few bathroom trips, in quick succession, I felt much better. Although frequent bathroom trips are inconvenient, I appreciate that this product was fairly gentle on my system. Because this works so quickly, I recommend taking these pills when you are either at home or in a place where you have quick access to a bathroom. I also would not recommend taking these at bedtime, unless you don’t mind waking up several times throughout the night. 2. Effective Bloat Reduction: After 3 days, I noticed my bloating was significantly reduced, especially in my tummy area. I felt lighter which in turn, noticeably increased my energy levels. 3. Natural Ingredients: I like that this product has natural ingredients. I’ve been reading a lot about supplements that have unnecessary (and unhealthy) fillers, so this was a huge plus. 4. Pill Form: I definitely prefer the pill form over the other forms of cleanses. It only takes a couple of seconds to ingest. I’ve never liked time consuming cleanses, such as the powders you mix into water or other liquids. Often, I forget to finish the entire glass. With this product, you’re done with one sip to wash the pills down. Cons: 1. Smell: There is an odor to the pills, so if you’re sensitive to smells, this product may bother you. But for me, it’s not a big deal. 2. Cramping: There is some cramping that happens when your body is ready for a bowel movement. The initial cramping is more severe but lessens over time. It’s not pleasant, but definitely not as bad as what I’ve experienced with other products in this category. I experimented with taking one pill versus two to help with this. With one pill, the cramping is milder but it took a bit longer for it to work. Ultimately, I would definitely recommend this cleanse if you’re looking for a quick detox and reset for your body. Bear in mind that this cleanse will not yield long term results. After each round of cleanses, I try to maintain a healthier diet and lifestyle, and I find that doing so helps me go for longer periods without the need for a detoxifying regimen.
