Perfect for the price.
This is an awesome size, great quality for the price. It comes with the lid lifter which is a great addition to the cookery. There is a tiny slot for checking the temp, it was too small for any thermometer I had. It came seasoned. It cleans up fast and easy. The lid is level and I love the legs on top, I also like the flat surface of the Kidd for stacking coals. The legs on the bottom are helpful for stacking the ovens one atop the other and putting coals between them. The cooking times were spot on to my recipes. I was supposed to be able to make monkey bread in 20 minutes and 20 minutes was exactly how long it took. The kids decided to run down to the lake, so I pulled the potatoes out of the fire and through them in the Dutch oven and just like home, 45 minutes later I had perfect baked potatoes.I absolutely love this Dutch oven for the price and quality. I would have loved to have had all lodge logic as I have several pieces of lodge logic, but with three kids in hurling and soccer and hockey and one in competition cheer I opted to save a little green and I was not disappointed. The first weekend out I used this oven for 4 meals. I cannot wait for our next camping trip to try even more!We are adventurous camp chefs and have made lasagna, monkey bread, cinnamon rolls, brownies, bread, chilli, stew, potatoes, breakfast bake and ratatouille in the Dutch oven so far. The kids are asking us to try enchiladas on our trip in two weeks. Heck we may even try it in the back yard before we get to the state park a week early.

Great First Dutch Oven
My friends and I took this camping, and it was a hit. I appreciated that it was pre-seasoned so we could forget about it until it was time to pack the car.I made layered Mexican "lasagna" (spices, corn, beans etc. between big tortillas) the first night and it came out so well. Especially tasty with the slight smokiness from the fire. In the morning, I put Pillsbury cinnamon rolls in hollowed oranges, cupped tin foil around them, and threw them in the fire with some coals on top- best breakfast ever.I didn't buy any special coals, just let the fire burn for a while and shoveled some from the bottom. Didn't seem to add any time, and saved money. I'm really excited to use this in the future! Great buy!

Great investment at this price point
We bought this to take on our first camping trip and it was definitely a worth while investment, especially for the price point. We used the foil liners (even though this is a “deep” oven, you can unfold the edge to make them work refectory) and put foil over the lid so cleaning was a completely non-issue. The handle was strong and supported the full oven as we carried it quite a distance to another camp site. I see this getting used for many camping trips to come.

Don’t need a fancy one for this job
Some brands of these products are very expensive and people go on and on about fit and finish and whatever. All nonsense — this one does just fine If you’re trying to figure out how to bake things while you’re camping this is the way to do it Stop fooling around and just buy one of these 6 quart is probably a good size there’s a lot of different sizes but if you’re not cooking for an army this will probably do fine for the average family ease-of-use ..follow instructions for temperatures..plenty of videos on Internet For using and recipes

Yosemite trip
We used the dutch oven on a recent trip to Yosemite! How cool is that?? My first time using a dutch oven and I was a little nervous at first. But it didn't take long to get the hang of it. After that it was a cinch. For baking place the oven on top of 8 coals (in a circle) and place about 16 on the top for 350 degrees. I baked a couple of fruit cobblers, baked apples, breakfast casseroles, and reheated chili and baked beans. Cooked very evenly. Others have complained of dings and defects. Ours was perfect out of the box. I appreciated that it was pre-seasoned and there was no odd smell. I didn't want to spend a fortune, and this turned out to be a really good purchase. I'm planning to use this for a long, long time.

Quality, versatile, product
After reading and watching many, many reviews on Dutch Ovens, I decided on the Camp Chef 10" Deluxe DO. I was initially leaning towards the 12" version, but after seeing a comparison to a similar sized pot I had at home, I chose the 10". I'm glad I did since the 12" would have been a lot larger than we needed for a family of 3.The quality of construction is quite good considering the price point. While it's not as smooth as enamelware, or more expensive brands, I didn't have any issues with items sticking to it right out of the box, including fried eggs. Although the lid doesn't sit perfectly square on the oven, it's not so far off that it causes any issues. The pot does come pre-seasoned. There were a few spots on the lid and inside the oven that could have been better, but again it was in line with the price point. Cook in it a few times, wipe it down with lard and it's a non-issue.There are a LOT of cast iron DO's out there, but since this is primarily going to be used when we go camping in our Boler, I wanted one that could be placed on the fire, over coals, and had a flat skillet lid that could do the same. The feet on the oven and lid allow you to put coals under either one if you choose to go that way. The lip on the lid allows you to place coals on the top and not have them slide off. I was also pleasantly surprised to find that the lid and the oven both fit onto my Coleman propane camp stove without hitting the burner. This allowed me to ease into DO cooking since I've never used one for longer sessions like making a stew at camp.I made camp nachos on our first night out camping. I had tried charcoal for a heat source, but didn't have enough to effectively heat the oven. Part way through I placed it on the grate of our campfire and we were eating shortly after. I lined the DO with parchment paper so cleanup was a breeze.Cast iron is unparalleled in it's ability to sear and brown meat. I used the Camp Chef to make beef bourguignon on our second night of camping. The nights are getting a bit cooler, so having a hot meal is a very welcomed addition. The pot was large enough to feed 4 adults and 3 children. Only a small serving was left over. This is where the propane stove really simplified the process because I didn't have to constantly monitor the heat and add coals over the course of an hour.I also used the oven to make two loaves of bread over charcoal at home. The first one was a little burned because I put too many coals on the top and bottom. I reduced the amount of coals and the second loaf was spot on.You do get a lid lifter with the pot. It does what it's supposed to do, but I did find that the lid tilts a little bit when you pick it up. This caused a bit of ash to fall into the dish the first time I used it. I find that I have to use a stick to push on one side of the lid while picking it up with the lifter in order to keep it level. This is not a problem if you aren't using coals on the lid. There is a slot for a meat thermometer in the pot should you be doing a roast etc. I have also picked up a stand to hang the pot over a fire, but I haven't used it yet so I can't comment on that.I would buy again, but I can't see any reason why this pot would fail me over the course of my life.

Sehr zufrieden!
► Versand & LieferungDie Lieferung erfolgte sehr zügig, gewohnte Amazon Geschwindigkeit.
