Gorgeous for God: Awakening Through a Course in Miracles

Your book really helped me. Especially the part where you said you threw away the course and told God to f-off. I think anyone who truly is working the course goes through this same thing. I threw away a Jesus candle at one point. I have been studying the course for over a year. It gets frustrating at times. But at the end of the day, your book helped me realize that this is normal. We have been using the ego thought system most of our lives. The ego doesn't like the course, of course :) So it rebels. It wants us to hate God. So it is completely normal to have this sort of reaction. Even Helen Schucman, the scribe of the Course, supposedly had a love-hate relationship with God, as she was also struggling with her ego. I have been fighting with God for years. But now I am finally starting to recognize that it is normal to be frustrated by the awful world I see (the "slaughterhouse" as Jesus states in the course). I had always been taught that this was God's world, and he created it in 7 days and he was in total control. But when you see little kids get cancer, you start to think God is evil. The course (and your book) have helped me to finally realize what I am seeing has nothing to do with God, but everything to do with my internal state of unconscious hate toward myself. What we are witnessing is not God's world. It is the opposite. It takes a while to accept that, and I think anyone who really needs the course is going to get to a point where they tell God to f-off. If not, something is wrong. I think the course even says if you believe this world is real, you should be scared and depressed. Thank you for an amazing book.

I have been an on-again, off-again student of A Course in Miracles for many, many years. Truthfully, I was confused for many, many years! ACIM is dense, the wording is difficult at times, and the concepts seemed impossible for me to implement in my own life.Lisa manages to cut through ALL of that. No more confusion, no more questioning. She knows that we'll be confused, and in fact Jesus says "Do not worry if you don't understand, just do the lessons" (or something to that effect). She says that, just as we don't have to understand electricity to use it and to benefit from it, if we just act on and think about love and forgiveness, we will be transformed. We will find peace, we will be happier. We have to decide that we're done with the dream, tired of suffering, tired of the drama, tired!In my experience, it all takes practice for anything to change. It's gradual. I would like to wake up one day and somehow know how to stop worrying, projecting, judging, deciding that things are bad when they're not really bad underneath. But for me, I have to reign in my thinking every day and let God do it. I've learned that my thinking is like a runaway horse.Order this book if you're at all interested in ACIM - it will cut out years of wondering, questioning, and doubt.Yay!!!

Just when I thought I had read every book on A Course in Miracles, I came across Gorgeous for God, by Lisa Natoli. I was in a transitional period at the time and experiencing a good deal of depression. I realized I needed to go back to ACIM's daily workbook lessons, although I had completed the workbook three times in the past. What I most admire about Gorgeous for God is the author's compelling emotional honesty about how she experienced her life and how ACIM served to awaken her to her real purpose and goal, which is to be truly helpful. She is not just talking about an intellectual understanding of the concepts in ACIM; she is practicing the principles set forth in the Course with true dedication and sincerity. The only other individual I've encountered who has achieved such uncompromising dedication is David Hoffmeister. I recommend Gorgeous for God to all those who are studying ACIM and who wish to delve deeper into how to undo the ego and live in the thought system of the Holy Spirit. The good news in ACIM and in this book is that the Separation never happened.

The book you'll be marking up, so order 2 (at least) ...I won't go into detail about how the book came to be because I'm sure others have already done that in their comments. Let me just say that, if you're new to "A Course in Miracles," it will help you so much. If you've been with the "Course" a long time and haven't heard of Lisa or sprung for a copy, gentle finger wag. Put a copy in your cart. And, if you know nothing about ACIM, but would just like to get a shot of hopeful, you need "Gorgeous for God." Lisa is the real deal, and she speaks her Truth so we can all see ours. She's Love and Light, and I for one (of thousands...millions, maybe?) am so grateful she's here as a pointer, and (little g) guide, and friend. (p.s., I'm ordering more books, as I want to use my sharpie on my dog-eared first copy with abandon)

This is an excellent book for the "A Course in Miracles" student. Lisa is extremely down-to-earth and enables the reader to understand that although it isn't easy, it is a very simple way to view the world with one change of our perception. I love her authenticity and her love for the Course, her students and her readers. She is the real deal. She allows the reader to know for certain, that if she can do, we can do it. I hope she will consider writing another book. She has such a pure quality. I am now receiving her newsletter from her website, "Teacher's of God" and taking her 40 Day Challenge. Lovely book to read

A straight forward book about spirituality founded in A Course In Miracles. Lisa Natoli is a fantastic teacher and this book is very recommendble. I just love it.

It is an amazing book! I love it. Lisa Natoli explains the awakening so simple. And it has a flavor of a very awesome humor. The best book ever !
