Not sure
Installed this into my car and it seemed to be a great product until the "HD radio" was coming out sounding worse than before... also the bend where you plug in the adapter wasn't at a 90 Degree angle... not sure sure what was up with this product perhaps just was a bad item in the bunch considering the one i got for my brother a while back worked just fine... requested a return and refund since i did not have the time to wait for a replacement i just bought a new adapter at my local audio shop.

Works great, just make sure this is actually what you want.
Lots of bad reviews here by people who bought the wrong product. The description clearly states "Factory Radio with Mini "Barbed" Connector to Aftermarket Antenna Adapter"--not for an aftermarket radio. I bought this to install an FM modulator, so I needed both adapters. This gets the job done and seems durable.

Metra never fails
For those people who are buying this as an antenna adaptor, it is, but it's a reverse antenna adaptor. It takes a aftermarket gm plug and turns it back stock. You generally will need the 40-gm10 for aftermarket installation unless you are doing a modulator install. Us metraonline.com as a reference guide

40-GM20 vs 40-GM10 Confusion
I bought this adapter to use during an aftermarket radio install in my 2003 GMC Yukon. Based on Metra's website it looked like I could use a 40GM-20 or 40GM-10 adapter. Well it turns out the 40GM-20 does not work. This adapter is meant for aftermarket antenna coaxial cables. Also, the male end of this adapter was not long enough the fit in the Pioneer radio I was installing. The male end has a right angle connector and hit the frame of the radio before a connnection was made. The 40GM-10's coaxial male end is much longer and fit in the radio perfectly. Most GM vehicles with a stock antenna wire should use the 40GM-10.However, the quality of the adapter seemed great. I cannot speak to its function. I just wanted to write this review to hopefully clear up any confusion future buyers may have.

Great for adapting a factory radio to an aftermarket antenna
Worked great to adapt the factory radio to an aftermarket antenna in my 1992 Camaro. Now I can turn it up when Whitesnake comes on the radio and it’s crystal clear sound!
