I purchased this type lid because the ones that slide loosen up and everytime I try to sip the cover slides over the hole. These were very tight and totally leak proof. I liked the option for straw too even though I rarely use a straw. I will be throwing all my old tops away and using these. I plan to look for some for my 24oz cups.

Another update. The lid completely cracked. I went to take a sip and it leaked. I didn't realize that it not only cracked, but there is a small hole. I think the piece is in my drink. As happy as I was originally, I have quickly become disappointed.Update - there are two disappointing features. One the spout - while leakproof - doesn't allow too much to come out when trying to drink from it. I wouldn't use the straw (or heat release) because I'm drink a hot beverage. So it takes much longer to get a gulp. It is more like a sip each time. The second issue is that the top was clear initially, but became opaque after the first use. Is the lid meant for hot beverages? I was so happy to come across this lid. It's nice that it came with so many - I suppose just in case one breaks.
