I just loved this scale, until I didn’t
As of the beginning of 2023, I’ve actually had this scale for years. I purchased it as an upgrade to the Body Smart scale I had purchased years earlier. I liked the additional functionality, and at the time thought that it being rechargeable was a plus.Easy to set up, easy to use, very happy with the device.Until, a few months back, I stepped on the scale, and nothing happened. In the past, this meant I had forgotten to charge it. However, this time, the battery would no longer hold a charge. Not surprising, as rechargeable batteries wear out. What was surprising was that Withings did not offer a replacement. Online research indicated that I could solder the battery from a cell phone to replace it, but that seemed a little extreme. So, I took a chance, and with a little effort was able to find a way to contact their support. After quite a bit of back and forth, I was given the information that I actually supplied them with during the initial contact. They don’t sell replacement batteries, and I had to replace the scale.Which is surprising, as there are thousands of these batteries in a warehouse somewhere, that go into every new scale.Fortunately, on a whim, I tried weighing myself with the charging cable plugged in. It actually works. So, to make a long story short, (too late) if you are thinking about buying this scale, be aware that it has a limited life. Unless you need some of the advanced functionality, you may want to consider the model that uses the replaceable batteries. (And buy some rechargeable AAs)To recap, it worked like a dream, (and actually still does) but the company currently has no plan for replacing the battery when it dies.Do with that information what you will.

Love this Nokia scale and how exactly calibrated it is to my original Withings scale
This is my second scale of the same model, this time black, which I wanted to use at a second location where I spend time regularly and this will help me keep track of my stats more frequently. The only apparent difference is the new Nokia logo versus Withings and the packaging, which was very premium. I added it to the Health Mate app and was very impressed that it immediately recognized my weight and attributed it to my user profile, then running through all the body composition measurements and logging my Pulse Wave Velocity the first time. When I bought the original Withings scale it required 5 measurements to calibrate but the second scale simply recognized me straight away. It also recognized two of my family members who were with me in the second location. The scale came 63% charged, so even though the quick start guide says to charge, I probably didnt need to and its important to NOT have the charger cable in when you are connecting to Bluetooth. It took only about 20 mins to reach full charge. My original Withings scale battery lasted a year before prompting me it was getting low. One new user started to use the scale and we got an 'X' in the screen as they were unrecognized but then an 'unassigned measurement' showed up in my Health Mate app dashboard and i just created a profile for them. They then took a few more stands on the scale, we got the 'X' and assigned the measurements to their profile. By the fourth measurement the scale had updated itself over WiFi and the user's name appeared in the screen and their body stats started to get measured. Its important that you look for these unassigned measurements in the app dashboard otherwise the scale has no reference to who is on it and then it simply cannot be as smart as its full potential. The new user then stepped on the scale 5 times to calibrate the Pulse Wave Velocity feature and got his first reading - a very impressive 6.2 m/s...much better that mine but then he is 35 years younger and so his cardio vascular system is probably a tad more elastic than mine! Overall, very impressed with this second scale and really delighted with how well calibrated it is. The new measurements are exactly comparable to my other Withings scale and the new measurements reflected in the app look entirely consistent with my existing trend lines, thus, I can confidently weigh myself on either scale and know that I am getting good daily stats for trend analysis, which is exactly why i bought the scale.

I installed the app on my phone quickly and was able to set up my profile easily. After that the unit paired with my phone ...
I was very impressed with this body assessment scale the minute I opened the box. The packaging was first rate and what I have come to expect with a high tech gadget. Charging the Nokia Body Cardio scale took only 10 minutes as it came 66% charged. I installed the app on my phone quickly and was able to set up my profile easily. After that the unit paired with my phone and updated the software on the scale. I then stepped on the scale and it came to life, displayed my name, and recorded my weight, body fat percentage, muscle mass, water % and heart rate. This all then populated to the Nokia Heath Mate app on my phone. I compared the weight reading to other scales I have and it was accurate. But most importantly, the percent fat mass number was very close to the number I got measuring with body fat measuring calipers. This has not been the case with other scales I have bought from competitors. In fact, those other scales are often times off by 10-15 percentage points. The other thing I like about this product is that it shows a graphical display of your weight trend on the scale each time you weigh yourself. Nokia even thought to display the weather for me for morning and afternoon in temperature and forecast. I chose the color 'black' which I figured would look cleaner longer and the design is sleek and a low profile. Comfortable to step on and ergonomic. The other cool thing about this scale is it pairs through bluetooth and not ANT+. It also has a WiFi connection. I recommend this scale highly as I have tried many of the newer electronic scales over the last 10 years and this blows them all away.

Nokia removed pulse wave velocity measurement.
Update Jan 2018. Felling massively ripped off bu Nokia. They've removed pulse wave velocity measurement so I paid a £60 premium for scales that no longer have a featured I paid for. Nokia are offering £30 compensation to spend at their store so I'm £30 worse off already and the only thing I might want from their store is £35 cheaper on Amazon anyway so doubly ripped off.Original: Impressed with this but a few niggles. Records weight consistently though it was higher than my old scales :-( PWV seems to only work with damp feet and pulse occasionally seems to record half my normal pulse (unless I'm really chilled without realising it!) App is generally good but would like to add notes eg mucho exercise, naughty kebab

Nokia have just disabled the only useful feature of these scales
Nokia has now decided to disable the Pulse Wave Velocity (PWV) feature on all of these scales, by pushing out a required automatic software update. PWV was the only distinguishing feature of these scales, and the only thing that made it worth spending the extra money on them, compared to other scales. It stinks that Nokia pushed the marketing on these so hard before Christmas, only to decide after Christmas that the feature does not work properly and so they are removing it. Yet another company that does their product testing after they have sold it to customers, instead of doing it before.

NO-TIA not Nokia!
I returned this product after several weeks of use and perseverance. I wanted this to be the most technological advanced product I’d seen for a while but it failed to satisfy. This product did NOT identify the difference between my partner and I as it suggests. I identify the difference. The scale just gives the options. Anything below a charge of 84% affected the way the scale worked. The PWV rarely worked when the charge was this low or gave ridiculous readings like 6.1 one day and almost 8 the next. Really disappointed with this product and it needs some serious work before I’d purchase a newer model.

Good and not so good.
First 7 or 8 months this has been great. Plenty of measurements, the App synchs easily and cross shares results with my Vitality App (Health Insurance). However the past three or four weeks the scale has not measured body data other than weight, properly - only on about two occasions. I’ve cleaned the surface as instructed but still giving same issues. Will watch it and see if another clean can help, though it looks fine. Either need it to work correctly it make a warranty claim. But when it works it’s a great device.

Easy to use and look good.
These scales are excellent. I had no bother setting them up as described by others. The information shows up clearly on the screen and is then sent immediately to your phone or Bluetooth device. The app itself is slightly fiddly at the start but after using it for a while it becomes more comfortable to use. The graphs all show the recommended boundaries for each measurement. The scales themselves are very well made and feel robust and they also look good as scales go. The measurements are accurate. I’ve tested them against manual readings and they were exactly the same. And finally it even tells you the weather for the day.
