Most cocoa mixes have milk solids in them---also a lot of additives.This mix has neither!It tastes great and mixes into hot milk easily.Since I only use lactose free milk products, this does the trick.Thanks for giving us this option.

I can't tell this is dairy free (except for not having the allergic reaction). It mixes well and tastes great. Very rich and creamy texture. No weird aftertaste like some of the others I've tried.

I purchased Castle Kitchen Double Dutch Chocolate, dairy-free, vegan, premium hot chocolate mix because I really missed drinking hot chocolate when my body became lactose intolerant.Let me start off by describing this Castle Kitchen hot chocolate mix as more of a, "chocolate drink", than hot chocolate milk because obviously there is no milk in it. So you should know that up front before purchasing this. That said, it does taste delicious and is an acceptable substitute for hot chocolate.One piece of advice. Follow the mixing directions. Do not go 'light' on the prescribed amount of chocolate mix to hot water. If you do not add enough chocolate mix, you will immediately notice a lack of taste quality to your hot chocolate. If you did that, add more chocolate mix until you reach the proper flavor.The reason I can't give the chocolate mix a full five stars is that in reality nothing can replace the true, full milk, hot chocolate milk with a dab of whipped cream, the vision we remember from childhood and Christmas time. Castle Kitchen has done its best to give us older, lactose-intolerant folks a nostalgic connection back to drinking hot chocolate when we were able to do so.NOTE: This hot chocolate mix is not for diabetics, especially Diabetes I. The mix contains cane sugar. Now I believe the cane sugar is key to making this chocolate mix the good taste it is. Probably sugar substitutes would not give the best flavor possible, although I think a sugar substitute is feasible. People with Diabetes 2 should stay away, too. Sampling one cup shouldn't hurt you but then your doctor said, no more sugar, right? So if you're lactose-intolerant, NOT a diabetic, and sorely miss hot chocolate from your youthful days, then I highly recommend Castle Kitchen Double Dutch Dark Chocolate premium hot chocolate. Weight watcher people also be advised of the high cane sugar content.

There isn't much NOT to like about this product. It is priced fairly (compared to similar products for which you are paying chiefly for the sugar content), tastes great, dissolves quickly, has a nice fresh smell when you open the can.I like to add a teaspoonful to my coffee, to boost the taste...I love chocolate in ANYTHING! Sometimes I add a tablespoonful of maple chocolate mix to a half cup of boiling water, stir, and then add that mixture to a blender full of vanilla or a caramel icecream smoothie, for a boost in taste.I plan on buying more and hoarding it in anticipation of harder times, like a black out, or local store closures or other unforeseen disasters. Chocolate and maple have a unique way of calming the heart and soul in dark times.BUY IT.

I've been looking for a hot chocolate that doesn't make me gag for a while. The carnations and Swiss one is so artificially gross, I can't stomach it. The camino one is so bitter and flat that it tried to be too healthy. This one strikes a happy medium and actually tastes pretty good. I made it with hot water, no milk, and it was good like what a chocolate juice would taste like.The maple flavour is also subtle. I was concerned it would taste like caramel because I hate caramel, but there's that burnt oakiness that's maple.I made it exactly per the instructions too. I usually have to add 50% more liquid so it's not toothaching sweet. This one made to the instructions was alright. I'll probably add 10% more water.
