Product really very good indeed, impressive, advice is to shop around, Argos £150! Since noticed this now available on Amazon at £149, so was particularly irritated spent £230, £80 more! Outrageous!! Bet the seller won5 be offering to fund the difference

nice device BUT not best video quality
very good UX/OS, nicely built, Alexa integration, bad videos quality especially in lower light but really in any lightning conditions image is quite grainy, feels like 2015

Power source not compatible with UK sockets without the purchase of an adapter
Item is not compatible with UK power sources as adapter is a US fitting. Purchase of additional adapter is required. Will not display photos as photo app is not pre installed. Several efforts to download said app have failed.

Not good for restricted space for connecting plug or HDMI behind TV.
Had a Portal bought as a Christmas present. It is an absolutely stupid design for something which is advertised to sit on top of your TV and most people have their tv wall mounted nowadays. The plug on Power adaptor sticks out of the wall further than my TV, as the plug sockets were situated to be hidden behind the TV. I also had a problem with the connections in to the back of the Portal and had to buy a 90 degree HDMI lead as it wouldn't fit between the portal and the wall. Both the power and HDMI leads should come out of the underneath of the Portal towards the TV, NOT the WALL and as for the plug on the Adaptor why not a normal flat plug which would fit behind the TV or power by the HDMI????

Distorted lense and poor image quality
The webcam lense bends the video so that there's a very noticeable curve to your video calls. Imagine a fisheye lense. The video quality depends on the quality of the phone the person is using, but even a good phone appears pixelated and blurry on any 40 inch or larger TV. This is an expensive piece of equipment, and I expected better, but it feels like a cheap cash-in to take advantage of disconnected families during pandemic. HDMI cable not included.

waste of money
they have removed all the accessories it is a massive waste of money the “hey portal” and “alexa” no longer work and it is very very slow. calls are also very low quality. all u can do is play music on it but even for that u have to control the songs and volume from ur phone or manually. Please don’t buy this!
