DESIGN 59 Unfinished Pedestal Base, Pack of Two,16 Inch Bench Height, Wood Furniture Legs for DIY and Contract Woodworking, Trestle Style Legs, (V02)

I was happy with legs out of the box. Then I stained them. This parawood does NOT like stain. I'm aware it's in the maple family so I preapplied wood conditioner to help the wood take stain better. It took stain like a paint in areas and highlighted every imperfection with the wood. If you look in picture the rest of the bench is oak with the same stain applied. I'm aware colors can be different on different woods with same stain, but this level of blotchiness and inconsistency is noticeable. May be ok for a light stain, but use caution. Now my project looks a little off and I have to figure out how to get it right because mineral spirits isn't working. Time to get a bandsaw and make legs myself so I'm not at the mercy of whatever wood is most available over seas. Again, looks like a nice wood out of the box, but I don't think id recommend if you plan on staining them a darker color.
