Lights for Lego model
Fantastic product - really brought my grandsons ice cream van to life. Just follow the instructions on the video - may need an adult to assist

well made but fiddly if you have large fingers
it does look good once built in but the wire connections are fiddly for large fingers. i asked my daughter in law to assist since she has small hands and nimble fingers!

Looks great but…
I was under the impression this was for playing with, but it’s much better served as a display addition given the size of the battery unit or the alternative USB power source. While it looks wonderful, I have a few hiccups with this purchase.Firstly, the battery pack. It’s massive compared to the ice cream van itself, and I don’t understand why a more subtle rechargeable battery pack wasn’t used. These LEDs wouldn’t draw a lot of power so I’m baffled with the 3x AAA unit. As you can see, the best solution I could come up with was making a custom ‘roof rack’ for my son’s van. Also, the instructional video is based on an older version of the light set with different wiring. The newer design is actually better and results in less wiring but after following the old video I decided to rewire it a bit differently, and you can see I’ve placed the cable connection box in the cab because it’s a better positioning than how the video shows, also because it’s now glued to a Lego block that needs to stick on top of Lego ‘buttons’, so it can’t go under the van like the video shows. This also gives me the option of easily unplugging the battery and taking the roof rack off if it’s not desired. Finally, the wires - while being ultra thin, don’t fit seamlessly between the blocks and easily get squished. In fact I feared greatly that I’d broken one by pushing the blocks together too tightly because the wiring makes it so that the Lego pieces they sit between don’t actually fit as snug as they would otherwise and you’re tempted to try force it a bit to prevent them from coming loose - this is a particular annoyance with the headlights and I actually also taped the headlight unit under the van because it kept popping off. My son loves it but I can see him getting annoyed with the battery at some stage and wanting to remove it.However, if you can get past all these nitpics, it looks lovely.
