I honestly don’t know, I just take out my phone charger and plug this in and it does a great job warming up my leftovers for lunch.

Q: Can you place a small ice pack in the expandable bag on top to keep items chilled before you are ready to use the food warmer section?

I wouldn’t recommend. The top part is made of clothe.
