A Good Shoe for Long Distance Running
The shoe has great stability, which is why I've stuck with the GT-4000 series. I used these shoes for marathon training. Put 500 miles into them and still felt great.

Comfortable and stable
Great running shoe. Used to wear gel foundation before they discontinued it. Been wearing asics for 20 years. Feel very stable.

Awesome running shoe!
I have been running in the gt 3000 / 4000 for about 10 years. The last version of the 3000 was pretty mediocre. The first version of the 4000 was excellent but very ugly. This 2nd version of the 4000 is excellent and looks great! I realize that this is not a super popular shoe but it is an outstanding running shoe. Lots of cushion but not too much like some of the asics. Great for over pronators. I have been running for over 40 years and this is a top 10 shoe for me. I am just worried that Asics will discontinue this line! It is miles ahead of the Kayano and gt 2000.

Runs a little narrow in the foot
These initially were really hard to put on as they were too narrow in the foot, despite my ordering a half size up. They were plenty long, but the foot felt restricted yet the heel slipped a bit, making me hesitant to try a wide. Full disclosure, my foot runs a bit wider in the toe box, but I have a narrow heel, and usually find a better standard fit than wide. I initially ordered these because they were recommended for heavier, flat-footed runners, but they ultimately were too narrow in the foot. I wanted to try the ASICS Gel Kayanos but may try the 2000s next.

Excellent Running Shoes
I’ve owned a lot of different running shoes over the years: ASICS, Adidas, Nike, etc. These ASICS GT-4000 2’s are very comfortable and super supportive, so they’re one of the best running shoes that I’ve ever owned. They were comfortable immediately out of the box. The only downside is they’re a bit pricey.

Husband’s flat feet love these for running!
My husband not only has flat feet, but an extra bone in each foot where his arch would be if he had arches. These are his second pair as he’s worn down his first pair. He runs 5-6 times a week, several miles a day. These held up nicely and like any avid runner knows, replacing your shoes every 6 months is pretty common, and yet these lasted him a year. ◡̈ bought these as his replacement pair and three weeks in and he’s loving them just as much as he loved the first pair. ◡̈

best shoe iv'e found for my flat feet.
I've tried Saucony, Brooks, Assics Kayano and Assics GT 2000. But the Assics GT 4000 is easily the best shoe for my pes planus.
