Ziyad Shaker Premium Paprika, Perfect for Paprikash, No Additives, No Preservatives, 6oz

If you've never had Hungarian Paprika and you like spice, this is the product for you. It has a warm but not super hot taste that enriches fish, stews, soups, and meat dishes. Sometimes its the only spice you need. Ziyad is one of two cities (areas) known for the quality of their paprika. This particular product brings out the flavor of the food, warms the mouth, tempts the nose and makes you eagerfor the next bite!

I have not been able to find whole leaf sage on the groceteria shelves, It seems to have been replaced entirely by rubbed and ground sage. I was happy to find this product. I found one other whole leaf sage, but it comes at a super premium price. Believing the hype, I purchased this one, the inexpensive one.I opened the jar and started to spoon out some sage leaves. But, all I could do is start. The spoon would not go into the jar. There were too many large pieces of stem. I was beginning to question the use of the term "Premium".I pulled the sage out of the jar into a pile. (See photo.) I took a few moments and sorted out the larger stem pieces. (See the other photo.) I weighed the pile of stems. There were 12 grams. That is better than 25% (28.6) of the jar's contents.The quality of the leaves is only OK. Not what I would consider premium. There were no obvious defects, although I didn't want to look too close. Considering the quantity of stems, the product was apparently not cleaned before packaging.

Red cabbage gratin and chicken paprikash are a couple of my staple dishes that I make monthly, so I use quite a bit of paprika. Nice to find a decent quality paprika in a quantity that will last me a few months; but not so much as to begin degrading before I can use it all.

I am Hungarian! Grew up on Chicken Paprikas as well as other delicious dishes my mom and other relatives concocted that all included Hungarian paprika! It was a staple then and continues to be in my kitchen over the years! Love it on traditional Hungarian dishes and my own created delights! Your Hungarian paprika hits the mark! Delicious flavor and aroma! Yum!

I got so tired of "making do" trying to emulate Aleppo Pepper -- paprika and cayenne, and cannot find aleppo pepper locally. This brand is exceptional -- fresh, and true to what you need for the slow-building heat and sweet after taste that is Aleppo Pepper.Great findDon't let it go stale in the spice drawer!!

The spice as required for a recipe. We ordered it as we have other unusual spices form Amazon. This spice provides a unique and excellent enhancement to raw tomatoes, watermelon. Everyone we serve it to raves about it. It's not overpowering but definitely noticeable in a subtle, harmonious manner. Great addition to our home cooking.

I intended to use this in a recipe for chicken paprikash but it arrived with the lid off and it is impossible to tell how long it had been exposed to the air. It tasted harsh and stale to me. I shall not buy this product again.

I purchased this spice for one particular recipe, but I find myself using it regularly. It’s milder than cayenne with a fruit-like quality. The container is good sized, so it’s a good value from this vendor.
