Fantastic Whisky, balanced flavours.
Whisky is my favourite alcoholic drink, usually either neat or on the rocks, so I was looking forward to trying this.It lived up to the expectations, the hint of fruits and chocolate upon opening the bottle is fantastic, then you get the smokiness, it was balanced for me but I'm always happy to try different flavours, the more conservative Whisky drinkers might find it too strong.Trying it neat was a joy, it was extremely pleasant and easy to drink, then tried it with ice and it was still just as good. The bottle looks great too, but like many others mentioned, the cork failed after a couple of times, so that is a bit disappointing, but otherwise would definitely recommend.

Great smokey taste
This whiskey is a great discovery, good option to keep in the collection.Silkie Irish is not like Jameson (common Irish whiskey) but more like between JD honey and monkey shoulder. The taste is smooth and sweet in taste and great with soda/water.The bottle also looks good but it would have been great if it came in a box. Gifting would be easy.I like the whiskey but not the name (personal opinion).

Late night libation
Initial review from my partner, who likes whisky- From its Silkie range of blended whiskeys, the Sliabh Liag Distillery presents The Midnight Silkie. A blend of 5 single malts with a smokiness to the combined flavour that compliments the paradoxical silkiness and 46% ABV strength of every sip. Probably very much best served late in the night as the name The Midnight Silkie suggests. A late night libation, and one not to be trifled with. Now my review! Keeping in mind that you either like or dislike whisky, I tried this one as a whisky hater. When I had a cold I felt that this was the most pleasant whisky I had tried so far, with a subtle sweetness. Once my tastebuds recovered completely, unfortunately the medicinal flavour came back and I could no longer enjoy it. But it turns out I can drink whisky when I am ill.

The Midnight Silkie Irish Whiskey packs a serious smoky punch.
I never knew whiskey could taste like a campfire in a glass until I tried The Midnight Silkie Irish Whiskey. It's like liquid smoke, but in the best way possible. Perfect for sipping by the fireplace on a cold winter night, or for adding a smoky kick to your next whiskey cocktail and definitely a true standout in terms of complexity of flavour. The smokey notes are certainly prominent, but they are also expertly balanced by hints of honey and vanilla. The finish is smooth, with a subtle hint of spice. It's the perfect choice for whiskey connoisseurs looking for a unique and bold flavour experience. Just don't try to roast any marshmallows over it. Trust me, I've tried.

Great Discovery
Smokey but smooth with plenty of character. Maybe too smokey for some but I think that is what makes it unique as the blend is quite an interesting combination. The family has been loyal to particular brand but was willing to try this unfamiliar brand and have enjoyed it. The bottle doesn’t come with its own box or gift box which would have been nice especially when you want send this a present.

Nice smoked blend, with some chocolate and citrus aroma.
I do not drink whiskey too often, but this one I find interesting and with a likeable character. On opening the bottle I detected some sweetness and a red wine aroma which kind of hides the smoked side until I put my nose closer to the bottle. The smoked character definitely shows up in full when you drink it, rich smoked taste with some citrus and chocolate aroma behind it and the 46% warmth.I also tried it in a mix with coke and ice and it was nice.I took one star off because:- on opening the bottle the cork broke into two pieces. It kind of ruined the first impression- very subjective... may be a bit too smoked for me, again very subjective.

Non age statement blended Irish Whiskey with Smoky hints
The Midnight Silkie is a blended Whiskey from Ireland. Sliabh Liag (pronounced Sleeve League) is a beautiful part of County Donegal.Irish Whiskey is smoother than Scottish Whiskey as it is Triple Distilled, although at 46% Volume it has a good kick to it.This is Sliabh Liag Distillery's Smokiest Blend, but it is by no means a big hitter like the Scottish Islay Whisky's.This makes it a very drinkable dram with enough complexity to it and plenty of flavour in the mouth including some smokiness and an amount of sweetness. It could serve as a good introduction to maybe get someone into trying the stronger smokier and more heavily peated Whisky's of Islay, or just as a decent easy drinker.
