Makes dragging toddlers through the airport easier
Update: We've had this for about 18 months now (my niece is now 4 and a half). She still uses it for weekend trips, though we haven't had many more airline trips. It's held up pretty well with occasional use - the plastic seemed a little shaky, but it is still working perfectly. I was worried about the plastic clips that close it, or the plastic wheels, but they haven't broken. My niece is pretty careful with her stuff (not real hard on toys) but this has held up well and she can probably pass it on to her younger sibling in a couple of years if she's willing to part with it.*******I bought this for my niece for Christmas last year for our trip across the country. She had just turned three and was very excited to have her own suitcase that she got to pack herself. We tossed a cuddly blanket inside and then let her choose the toys she wanted to bring to fill it up the rest of the way. Once it was full, that's it! Those were all the toys she brought along, so it was an early lesson in prioritizing her stuff. We were delayed on the first leg of the trip. So this little gem really helped fill up a few minutes while we waited to board the plane in the gate area. Beware, though, my niece was not nearly as interested in pushing herself around on it as she was in being pulled around by an adult.Where it really came in handy was in our connection city. Since the first leg was delayed, we had to double-time it to the connection gate, which was (of course) a long way away from the gate we arrived in. Since we didn't bring her stroller, and she didn't want to walk (quickly), we put her on the suitcase and pulled her through the airport. It was a lifesaver! Without it, we would have had to carry her.Pros:-UNIQUE - I didn't see any others in the airport, and I haven't seen any since. I travel a lot, so this is a unique toy that will get lots of looks from other passengers.-FUN - This is a fun toy to ride on and keep kids occupied while travelling. We haven't used it on more than one trip, so I don't know that it's super-durable, but it has held up fine so far.-HANDY - The strap easily clips into place to throw over your shoulder when the kid isn't riding on it. When she's ready to ride again, just unclip one side to pull it along or unclip both to let the kid push herself.-SECURITY - There were no problems getting it through the security checkpoint: on the belt and through the X-ray with no problems.Cons:-SIZE - It isn't very large inside, but seems like it's probably too large to fit comfortably under the seat. You could probably cram it under a seat if you had to or depending on the aircraft, but we didn't want to bother and just stowed it in the overhead compartment.-RIDING - My niece is maybe a bit tall for her age, but she had to pull her feet up a significant amount so that they didn't drag on the ground while we pulled her. I just mention this for completeness: she didn't seem to mind at all. But, if your kid is really tall or on the older end of the age range, it's something to keep in mind.-MANEUVERABILITY - Yeah, it's not going to make hairpin turns. But we didn't have much problem in the airports, which are generally pretty wide with gentle curves. On the plus side, people saw us coming and moved out of the way a bit, smiling at my adorable niece on her suitcase.

Plenty of space, stable, great size--updated :)
I read all of the reviews about the Trunki and decided against it at first. I thought it would be too flimsy, too small and the lack of steering would make it frustrating. So I bought the Scootcase. Bad idea. After returning the Scootcase the next day because it kept tipping over, running over my daughter's toes & had very little storage space, I ordered the Trunki. I am so glad I did!!!! It is very sturdy & has 2 "locking" clasps. When I say locking, I mean there is a key to lock them!!!! This way your toddler can't just open it on a whim and toss all their belongings out. I love this feature. One on the front and one on the back. My 2 1/2 year old had no trouble turning the Trunki even though all the wheels are straight & it did not tip over when she was riding it or when I was pulling her and turning with it. Now I did have to be careful on the turns & go a little slower, but besides that, no issues at all. My daughter was super comfortable with it and played on it a while after it came in the mail. I don't quite understand the reviews that talk about it having too little storage space. There is a lot of space in there. If you are using it for what it is meant for. . . .clothes, bath stuff, a toy or two, snacks. Then the space is great. We also bought the saddlebag & the bag that goes inside. Great :) I am very happy with this purchase & so is my daughter!Update!!!! We used this on a plane trip with our 2 1/2 year old, and it was wonderful. We had enough room in the Trunki to fit 7 days worth of shirts, pants, socks, a pair of shoes & 7 pairs of underwear! We used the Melissa & Doug inner storage tote & the saddlebag for the top. The only time we had difficulty was when we were trying to pull our daughter on a rocky surface before entering the airport. It isn't very stable on gravel or street/blacktop surfaces. It does well on flat surfaces. She is still learning how to navigate it, but after a little practice, she did well! The only time she tipped over is in the beginning when we were pulling her in the parking lot. By the end of the trip (with practice under her belt), she was able to self-correct and pay attention. It is pretty sturdy as long as you don't overfill it. If your child is riding it while you're pulling them, it's best to look back every once and a while to make sure they're still moving ok & not veering into foot traffic. We also had our daughter bend her knees, holding her feet up while we pulled or she could push with her feet too. The saddlebag was a nice addition. It has some cushioning for their tush & a little beep horn. I put a few fruit snack bags, crayons, stickers & m&m's in there without it bulging. We really enjoyed the Trunki & our daughter was very proud of it. And for an active girl like we have, this made our trip easier.

Great idea but not good quality
This is the coolest idea ever. We were taking our grandchildren on vacation and ordered one for each of them. They were such a hit with the kids and we had people stop us continually in the airports asking where theycould get them. However one wheel on each trunki gave out before we even reached our destination. So disappointing that they did not even last one day!! We ended up putting them in the garbage at our hotel because you could no longer pull them. The cases were not overloaded and my grandchildren are small and not overweight on the units.
