excellent information
There are many modern books and many authors that suggest quick fix solutions to yoga. It means that one as to ascertain and get to know the relative facts that are fundamental, then decide the few books, and authors, that are genuine with truths. It is not easy.

Author
Arrived late by one day which is not the end of the world.Author-- It says Swami Chinmayananda whom I respect very much. But it is written by two ladies who are disciples of Poojya Swamij. Had I known , I would not have bought it.Content-- Perfectly good and accurate. one third of the book is introduction and rest of it is the real techniques.English--Infallible.Size-- very small; Can be put in a large pocket. Smaller than I expected. But it is quality versus quantity that matters. All in all it is the book for beginners who want to get into the spirituality or spiritual practices as practised by the ancient Rishis, and certainly not for people who have been into Advaitha philosophy for some years.

A concise and practical book on meditation
I like Swami Chinmayananda's writing and speaking style (as seen on youtube). He has a non-nonsense and direct approach to communicating what he wants to say. This book is no different. This book is based on the lectures on meditation given by Swami Chinmayananda in Singapore to his students there. He outlines 6 exercises in meditation for you to follow through. I am always on the look-out to improve my own japa practice, and his suggestions are invaluable! I especially liked the suggestion to chant the mantra in your mind but as loudly as possible so as to fill the whole universe. The kind of mental focus that this simple modification gives you has to be experienced to be believed. Swamiji himself was a great fan of japa meditation and his affection for the practice clearly shows in the book. This book is concise, valuable, and well written, as are all of Swamiji's books. I wholly recommend it!
