Update: I tried a second planting and this time I did get more variety of colors. The dominate ones were still green with red centered leaves, but there were some yellowish and orange colorings and dark maroon colors. Looks like it is just the luck of which seeds you choose to plant.I planted the seeds in 24 containers. These seeds had a high germination rate and all the seedlings thrived and grew well. The issue I had is that 50% of the plants were all green leaves and the other 50% were green leaves with just a small amount of red. These are advertised as a Rainbow mix with yellow, green, red and maroon colors to be expected; maybe I was just unlucky in the seeds I chose out of the package, but I did not get a Rainbow of colors. The plants are growing and healthy, but just not what I expected.

I planted most of a package to thin out picking colors I liked. Out of like 100+ seedlings 90% are all green and 10% had a bit of red in the center. I did get a very high germination rate but kinda not worth it if all are bland green ones. Maybe they will get a bit more color as the grow. Thinned at 1-2" tall.

Really great experience especially if you have kids these little guys will start to germinate within 2-3 days and then is just smooth sailing from there high recommend for plant loving beginners ❤️❤️

These coleus are mostly green. A couple have a bit of burgundy. I've gotten better seeds at the supermarket. They look nothing like pictured.

I bought two different company’s coleus seeds. This one did far better and had many seeds. All the ones I planted sprouted (I did have the pots on a warming mat to sprout). I then thinned them out and kept the plants with the colors I wanted. They all started out green and then started to get their red stripes in the leaves. In fact I had very few all green ones after a while. I think the least common was the white and green, I only had about 2-3 in the handful of seeds I planted. Most were reds. I have a few of the plants in the shade on my deck. They are very happy and all flowering, which the hummingbirds really like.
