Lightweight additional monitor for the digital nomad
+ monitor is lightweight, about 0,8 kg+ if you are used to at least 2 monitors, this is your 'must have' for travelingRecommendation: take additional glue-stickers with you. Probably you will stick this monitor wrong :P and you will have stick your monitor again.I highly recommend to connect it on the left side of the laptop, to avoid collisions with your mouse :)For 17'' laptops: close laptop and place it in front of you (logo is in correct position). Then stick it on the top-left corner. O! before you stick it please make sure that you can slide the monitor to the left :)

Item is trash. Didn't last 1 week.
The cord is poor quality. It broke in less than a week. The slide that controls the screen sliding side to side is very sticky and rigid to use. When you try to flip the screen into presentation mode you feel like you're going to break it. The unit didn't last a week. The screen won't turn on. The sellwr's solution was to send me a used unit when I had paid for a brand new one. Unacceptable

I like this monitor
Just try, and it works very well! It fulfills my requirements like having multiple screens and organizing windows. It makes my work more effective. Highly recommend.

Updated— bought a new cord and industrial strength Velcro
I updated my review to 4 stars from 1 star. I invested in a new cord that has made a huge difference in the connectivity. I also purchase industrial strength Velcro to use in place of the magnets. It has helped with the problem of the screen shifting down and has allows me to easily take the screen on and off of my laptop.Old review- see updated review aboveI’ve had this for less than a year and it has already stopped working. Purchased it so that I’d have the benefit of a second screen while traveling or not working at my desk. It worked great after replacing the magnets with 3M industrial hook & loop!! Now I’m so disappointed that I spend so much money on something that would just stop working. At first, it was flickering when I’d move the cord but now it doesn’t work at all. Black screen of doom. I’ve replaced the cord, nothing… tried different settings on my Mac… nothing. My desk monitors work just fine so it’s not a port or laptop issue. I’d like a replacement but no way to contact the seller. Now I’m tied to my desk everyday to work efficiently and will struggle on my next set of travels. This was a purchase that I had in my cart for a while before I could afford to buy it… that makes this even more disappointing. : (

Good to go!
Just finished setting it up and is plug and play USB-C to USB-C. Image quality and brightness is excellent. Very easy to install and set up. Will update later on reliability.

Monitor holding on the bcak is not reliable
When fully extended, the monitor's weight falls primarily on the top right corner; hence, the magnet comes off the back of the laptop, and the monitor falls from its horizontal position and lies on the table. This has been consistent with multiple replacements of the sticky dots, which I ran out of them by now after 18 months of using the extended monitor.

Magnets Do Not Stick / Not Reversible on 17" Laptops
I received the Duex Max 14.1" today, 2 hours ago. Two of the magnets already fell off and the entire unit falls down to the desk (I am certain if it fell to the floor then the display would have cracked). I read many professional reviews prior to purchasing and was aware of the design flaws, however, I gambled that since this was the newest 4th generation model (2022) - I thought by now Mobile Pixels would have finally fixed the magnet problems - they didn't.There is really no point to having a mobile laptop screen extender when it falls flat on the floor/desk or whatever is underneath it.The other issue I have is they advertise it as being reversible, so the user can either place it on the left or right side, then reverse at anytime. This is not the case with my 17" laptop. If I were to follow the instructions and mount the magnets in the center - then the screen does not slide far enough to either side to be able to rotate it or to even be able to view the entire screen. Mobile Pixel has to know this, when using it for 17" laptops. Yet they advertise this 14.1" product to be best suited for 17" laptops.Knowingly using false and deceptive product advertising in the USA is a criminal offense and I am contemplating reporting to the Federal Trade Commission for investigation. Normally, I probably wouldn't even do a review or take any action - but when they are charging $300 plus tax then you don't expect it to fall apart in under 2 hours and you do expect it to work on both sides as they advertise. The concept is great and it is worth every penny if they would fix the magnet issue and just be honest in their advertising about it working on both sides for 17" monitors. Maybe I could see it working on both sides when attached to a smaller laptop - but not even close with my 17".I don't even really care that it only works on one side - but the fact they advertise it as being reversible speaks to the character of the company - and hopefully it will speak to the investors.I am contemplating keeping it because as I said - the concept is great. I just need to research if there is any type of stronger adhesive that I can use to mount the magnets to my laptop that won't harm my laptop. The other concern I have is, will the 1.8 pounds pulling to one side stress my laptop hinge over time ... it would be nice to see long-term product testing on this genuine concern - why spend $300 on a device that will damage or destroy your laptop screen hinge? I don't think it will but it is a concern that Mobile Pixels should have addressed by now.I understand the first round had these problems, but 4th generation and nothing has changed should speak to the investors to finally see changes and real improvements. Disappointed it hasn't happened.

Worth it!
Replaced another portable monitor and the Duex is def a step up! Much better picture quality and worth the $$$! Dropped it one star because it is a bit “clunky” sliding open and close.
