This is something you need as well as flavacol to make movie theater popcorn. if you use regular coconut oil you get too much of a coconutty taste on the popcorn. This stuff adds the butter flavor that flavacol doesnt have and makes it not taste like coconut oil. Also is needed so that the flavacol sticks to the kernal
