Kitchens Best Stainless Steel Kitchen Scissor

I was excited to find these MADE IN USA scissors. I was eager to support an American business but was disappointed. Out of the package I opened the scissors one time and they would not close back up! I looked closely and saw a small metal flaw (a bump) on one of the blades that prevented the scissors from coming together (along with scratches on the blades). My husband filed it down with a knife sharpener so they would close. I wanted to love them but they won't not even cut through 2 layers of plastic on a bacon package. My kids safety scissors work better. I found another US company that makes scissors and knives called Wolff. I kept these as backup scissors

On the package: Nothing, packed in a nondescript plastic shelf hanging pouch. On the item: "Kitchen's Best" and "Bianco Brothers Brooklyn NY".My measurements: Overall length: 7-1/4 inches, blade length 3-1/8 inches, Width @ widest part of handles 2-7/8 inches, @ widest part of blades closed 15/16 inches; @ widest part of blades open 13/16 inches. Thickness of each blade 3-32 inch (about 2.5mm), thickness of handles 7-32. Weight 4oz.First impression is that these are a nice basic set of scissors. They are comfortable to use both left or right handed and reasonably sharp out of the package. They are not serrated; there are small etchings on one of the blades but I don't know that they serve any purpose other than decorative. Truly fine with me as serrated scissors are a bear to sharpen. These scissors are held together with a single rivet which is my lone (and very picky) note of where the craftsmanship could improve as the rivet is not fully rounded over. The handles are solid round stainless steel, not a bit of plastic on this product anywhere.Overall, a fine Made in USA product that I can utilize of all over the house, not just in the kitchen. I will buy them again when I need another medium sized utility scissor.****EDIT**** 03-12-2019 So I needed another pair of these scissors and found they were out of stock for quite a while. When they came back, they were $10 instead of the $13 I paid almost two years ago. When they arrived, I immediately noticed that they were lighter weight than my first pair - by about 1/2 an oz. The the thickness of the formed handles was also less, down to 3/16 inch from almost 1/4 inch. They are 1/4 inch shorter, and the decorative "serrations" are no longer there. The stainless steel is dull instead of the shiny surface of the old pair, they likely changed the grade of stainless that they made the scissors out of.I am disappointed in the newest pair. The smaller size, lighter weight and dull appearance gives them a cheap feel; they are not as nice as my first ones. Sadly, I knocked one star off my previous 4 star rating.
