Compatible with the Raymarine C80 chartplotter & allows RADAR overlays to work OK!
I have an 2005 boat with a Raymarine C80 chartplotter with the latest Raymarine firmware.The C80 won't allow RADAR overlays on top of the charts unless you have a fast heading sensor installed. Unfortunlatey Raymarine wants $800 to add their fast heading sensor, this is much too expensive for an older system.I installed a NEMA 2000 backbone and connected it to the SeaTalk-2 interface of the C80, and then connected this Garmin SteadyCast to the N2K network. I only needed to fabricate one SeaTalk-2 to NEMA 2000 cable to connect the C80 to the N2K backbone, and this SteadyCast works well enough to allow me to have my RADAR overlays on top of my charts!I'm happy with the performance for this use, even if it may not be as accurate as an $800 Raymarine fast heading sensor.

Headed sensor
Product was as described. Fast delivery. So far so good. I have used it several times for trolling. This was not the purpose I installed it for. My main purpose for heading sensor was for staying on bottom structure in open water. This time of the year I troll alot and haven't tried it for its intended purpose. I can tell you that it also helps alot with trolling as well. When you are turning and trying to stay on a track. I could definitely see the defference with it the first time I used it.

A must have to add memory and direction heading to your plotter. Should be sold with the unit...

Plug and play
One plug, into your backbone system on your boat. The chart plotter recognizes it asks for you to configure it.. follow prompts… super easy makes the chart plotter much more accurate. Definitely worth the money

Tコネクタのエンドキャップをしないと認識されない事に今さら気付きました…
GPS魚探のネットワーク上でローランスのPointｰ1が認識されなくなってしまったので、買い替えでこちらを試しに購入しました。配線していて気付いたのですが、結果としてコネクター部でのマイナスケーブルの断線でPointｰ1は正常でした。そもそもSteady Castも新しい電源ケーブルにしても認識されず焦りましたが、何のことはないTコネクターの空き端子にエンドキャップ（ダミー抵抗）を付けないとNEMA2000ネットワークの回路が通電しないので認識されないようでした。商品は並行輸入なので2週間位掛かりましたが、5年前のPointｰ1くらいの価格帯で購入出来て良い感じです。ただ、あたり前ですが…Pointｰ1と違ってヘディングセンサーなだけであって、外付けGPSアンテナ機能はありません。
