Very impressive
When the other reviewers say that this is a sharp knife they are not exaggerating. This knife is undoubtedly the sharpest knife I have ever purchased, bar none, almost scary sharp. I have used it cutting meat and vegetables, and it slides effortlessly through everything. A real pleasure to use.It is also a beautiful knife, very well constructed, good balance and comfortable in your hand.The manufacturer's attention to detail that went into this knife is clearly evident in the finished product. The only thing that would make this knife even better is if it came with a safety sheath to protect it in my knife drawer. (found one made by CfoPiryx for $6, perfect fit)You can spend more money on a chef's knife but I don't think you could purchase a knife of much better quality than this one. For just $50 AND free return it's well worth giving it a try.

I have many knifes this knifs is perfectly balanced,weight,sharpness, handle, price, quality of materials used and the warrantee18 month... If it remains to this same condition after 24 months, I believe that this knife could be considered one of 5 best knifes in the world.

A manier avec précaution...
Ce couteau ainsi que les 4 autres achetés dans la même série (shan zu) propose une lame en acier damassé du plus bel effet visuel.Côté fonctionnel, l'équilibrage entre le manche et la lame en font un outil très agréable à manier, avec une prise en main très agréable et peu fatigante dans le temps.Un seul bémol, mais qui est aussi le point fort clé de ces couteaux, réside dans le tranchant. Le fil de la lame est un vrai rasoir, sans exagération aucune. La découpe est précise, et se fait sans effort, une carotte ou une saucisse sèche se traverse comme une plaque de beurre. Mais le tout se manie avec précaution car un se coupe extrêmement vite (2 entailles pour ma part).Au final, le prix peut en rebuter plus d'un, il m'a fallu réfléchir avant de me jeter à l'eau et de l'acquérir. Mais au final, cuisiner en devient un vrai plaisir tant le tranchant est incroyablement chirurgical. On re'tre dans une autre dimension de la cuisine. Mais gare aux doigts!

good price for damacaus knife
purchased both hammered chef knife and santoku knife on prime day deal.good price for damacaus knife, edge are sharp out of box not sure if they keep sharpness well. nice packaging. but i do not think its manual sharpen by hand over whetstone, maybe over spinning wheel? (one of the cutting edge has tiny imperfection like a tiny rock chip , the other knife has a noticeable burr on the tip )good balanced chef knife, handle side heavy for santoku knife (but most santoku are handle heavy unless u look for light weight bamboo/wood one).overall i give them 5 stars
