US Robotics 56K Pci Express Faxmodem

Package arrived one day late but was in good condition. I removed the PC cover and installed the modem in the lower most PCI Express X-1 slot on my Dell I660 desktop. This unit replaced a USB modem that was quite slow. Following the instructions included with the CD I powered up the computer with the CD loaded and the phone line connected to the new modem. System is Windows 7 64 bit. The PC booted and installed the drivers automaticaly and without issue. A couple of clicks and I was connected to the internet at 41.2 Mbps. Not blazing but a significant improvement over the previous modem. So far no dropped lines either. Very happy. We live in the country and options are limited. This is a great buy for someone looking for an easy to install dial-up modem with good connection speeds. Wish I had bought this first.

With a Desktop computer that had Windows XP, once I used High Speed Internet using a USB WIFI adapter, I could not use Dial-Up anymore. It is important to me that I be able use both because I only use High Speed Internet through unsecured WIFI Hot Spots in my neighborhood.After talking to several repair places who felt that the problem was Windows XP, I bought a new desktop computer with Windows 7 and a built in WIFI modem.I had to buy a Dial-Up modem for my new computer because it only came with the WIFI modem. This is the modem that I bought because it had the right connector to fit in my new computer. Once I bought this modem, I could easily switch back and forth between High Speed internet and Dial-Up internet.It installed very easily and works as well as any Dial-Up modem that I have used on other computers. I am very satisfied with the purchase and would recommend this modem to anyone.

I am so pleased with this modem. I purchased it for my PC at the office so I could connect it to landline and manage calls from the computer.Tested it for a few months and everything went smooth!Note: compatible with windows 10 but be aware that some functionalities could be missing as TAPI is no longer maintained by windows 10.

As others have mentioned, no Caller ID or speaker like older models had; features I would have paid $10 extra for if they had been available anywhere. I would have thought there would be an option for playing audio thru system speakers, but NO.Installed automatically, no disc needed. Uses Windows 10 FAX & SCAN program.Sends & receives FAXes.

As always, US Robotics has produced a winner with this product. This product just doesn't care with you have either a digital and analog line for receiving and sending. I've used this companies products for years, and though (in the past) it's been considered somewhat pricey, you definitely "get what you pay for". As a case in point here, I had a problem with my new digital IP fax line with a new FIOS distribution hub. Installed this unit in one of my HP workstation,... Problem solved.Great unit,.. Great price. And interestingly enough, I could only find it on Amazon at the time, and got it the same day. Just amazing.

I replaced my old computer. It ran WIN10 v. 1709 and had a working USR PCI fax modem.This soft modem does not receive a dial tone in my new computer. My new computer is running WIN10 v 1803. It has this USR soft fax PCI-X modem, USR 5638. WIN10's modem diagnostic reports no problems. The phone line worked with the prior computer's modem and works with a phone connected to it.I have uninstalled and reinstalled the card multiple times, swapped out the phone cable, uninstalled and reinstalled USR and generic drivers.Despite hours of frustration, the modem does not get a dial tone. USR is yet to answer my support inquiry.NOT RECOMMENDED.

After using a USB zoom 56K modem to contact our breath instruments for a number of years, the firmware had corrupted and consistent dial out and data transfer was severely hampered. USB modem was running on Windows 10 pro with 32GB of RAM prior to the malfunction. My colleague in data services suggested changing to a PCI express 56K modem card with a small form factor. Item was shipped fast and I was able to install it and utilize it quickly saving us time and a complete headache. Worth the orice of the purchase for the time saved in manually retrieving and collecting data at remote locations via a vehicle.
