Made a big difference.
I put this on my 2006 Passat 2.0 automatic.I had mediocre cooling from my ac.I also noticed my AC cooling fan at the Radiator was not working. So I ordered a new fan and this solenoid valve and did them at the same time.I recharged my system and its sooo much better than before... Im happy.Installation note. You might want to harm yourself during the change out process. Its doable.. It just sucks hard. Embrace it and settle in for some difficulty if you are replacing this while the pump is on the car. Which is what I did. First, get your c clip pliers and use the 45 degree angle attachment. You will understand why when you get under the car. I grabbed for the only clip end I could see and squeezed and pulled and eventually got one side out,, I then used a slim screwdriver and pulled it out . Then I used a small Orange handle pry bar. You can use a screwdriver I guess. pried it out. Getting the new one in is a whole different kinda headache. Taking out the old one is easier than putting the new one in.First make sure the valve is seated allll the way in.. It might feel all the way but its probably not. Tap with a wooden block and small hammer.2. Getting that c clip reseated in there is a B%*tch. ! Squeeze the clip down pretty good and shove it down in there. You might need to hold at some point,,and push the other side of the clip down in with a slim screwdriver. Good luck.. Its worth it in the end.. Otherwise just take the pump off and do it on a bench.

Cheapest way to fix ac compressor
Before you go and buy a new compressor for your VW or Audi ac system, try this 1st. The compressors for these cars don't have a magnetic clutch like other car brands. They use this valve to control when the ac is being used. If you have ac problems this just might be the fix. Do a little research 1st tho

Make sure to verify your compressor brand and version to get the correct valve
My MK5 GTI is finally blowing cold air and actually has water dripping from underneath the car from the condensation. My compressor brand and version is the Zexel DCS17E. I think it's still probably the original after more than 160K miles. I was skeptical that just changing the valve would work but I'm happy to report that my A/C is finally good. My indie mechanic had to capture all the refrigerant and drop the cooling fans enough to make room to install the valve. Then he put in enough refrigerant to match the specs. Overall this fix was way cheaper than replacing the compressor or other A/C components. I would recommend trying this if you have suspicions that this is the faulty part after diagnosing

Fixed My Air Con
Saved me loads had a quote for £600.00 for a new compressor fitted , looked at the at the the symptoms for a faulty valve and my AC was doing as the symptoms said, cooling now and again - delay in cooling sometime up to 15mins before the AC started to work - and sometimes it would work and then just start blowing warm air. So I looked on the net and RKX valve seemed to be the most reliable one to you can get cheaper but everyone said go with the RKX valve OK it did have to come from USA but the thing I liked with Amazon you pay for all import taxes NO hidden charges. The valve took just under 2 weeks to arrive and about couple of hours to fit. then I got a £34.99 Groupon Voucher for a AC recharge at ATS and the AC is ice cold works straight away, so would I recommend RKX most definitely YES!.. Oh Just one thing make sure you order the right valve for the compressor fitted on your car and get the system discharged before you try and fit it.

It works flawlessly
It worked! The A/C wasn't working at all. Some people had different symptoms of intermittent A/C coming on and off. On my VW Passat, there was no A/C, even after running it for more than an hour. After installing this valve, the A/C worked flawlessly. Dealership wanted over $1200 to install a new compressor. This valve saved me over $1000.Install notes: I was able to install it with the compressor in place using an angled snap ring tool (on a 2006 VW Passat). Make sure to discharge the system before taking out the old valve (refrigerant can severely injure you). You MUST lubricate the O-rings with A/C lubricant on the new valve before installing. Don't forget to reinstall the snap ring before charging the system. Also charge the system with a can of A/C lubricant before charging with refrigerant.

Love it, Love it ...... Loooove IT !!!
This WORKS !!! Dealer costs to fix my malfunctioning AC was about $1200; they would not replace this valve, but the entire compressor. After reading up on the Audi Forum about this valve, I thought I'd try it first prior to going along with the Dealer. Initially ordered the valve for the Denso Compressor, which did not fit my compressor, in view of the fact that I had a Zexel Compressor. This arrived and got installed just in time for the heat and humidity in Washington, DC. Now when I turn on the AC in the Car, it feels as though it's Winter in the car !!!! Wonderful ...... !!

Works perfect ice cold ac now without buying a new compressor. You do need to have some long 90 snap ring pliers to get it out. Rkx makes good products get this and do it once
