ZillaAquatic Turtle Extruded Food Pellets 6 Ounces

Turtles love it, great value for 2.99! Love the brand. My only complaint is it turns water a green shade

I have a very picky eater Red Eared Slider but he LOVES these Zilla pellets. There is not a fishy odor like some other pellets can have and they float much better than other brands, which entices my turtle to actually eat the pellets instead of watching them sink to thr bottom of the tank. I have noticed that after a few feedings, the water in his 75 gallon tank does have a slight tint to it but it is still clean and filtered through a canister filter. I also have a few feeder fish that live in the tank with my turtle who eat these pellets as well.

I was disappointed to know that this turtle food has artificial coloring. My tank turned green the day after I start feeding my turtle this food.

Pros:- Packaging was nice- Floated well in the water- Lasted a long time...- Only needed a few to feed my turtleCons:- Made a HUGE HUGE HUGE mess!! These suckers would disintegrate and make my whole tank dirty. I had to move my turtle out of his tank during feeding time and conduct it inside of my sink.- Turtle refrained from eating them for an extremely long time, and would wait about 15 minutes before touching one out of desperation for food.- They became very soft very quickly which also contributes to the mess problemI probably wouldn't recommend this product to my friends and family, due to the fact that it is such a messy product. My filter literally couldn't keep up with the mess it made. Maybe your turtle will like the taste, but mine certainly did not. When I first started using them I knew that my turtle would take time to adjust to a new food. It took over 2 weeks to wean him off his old food!! After he finally started eating it I could instantly tell he did not like them. Because of my cheap nature I could not bear myself to throw them out, so I made my turtle finish the whole bottle before I went back to his original and more expensive blend. I don't know what they taste like, I am not a turtle. my turtle does not like them. they are bit smelly, moist and look like green stool. don't leave in water too long because they get moldy.

i guess you get what you pay forthe pellets turned soggy within minutes and wound up being wasted and polluted the tank.the water turned green within a day of feeding. i would not reccomend this product for turtles in a tank.

A creek runs through my property. Wild turtles come through from time to time. The turtle there now was in the middle of my road so I picked him/her up and but him/her in the river. Every time I go to the river s/he comes over to me. So I decided to start feeding it, just for fun. The Creek is sort of a small river, wide and long, shallow & deep but slow moving. The turtle is like an eight inch motor boat racing to me now, hoping I have some of this food to feed it. I like the size of this food because this turtle needs a bigger food. S/he usually eats them one at a time but occasionally will gulp down three at once. I know the turtle eats on its own since I'm not feeding it that often, but I think it's a nice nutritional boost to whatever else it eats.
