Britax Advocate Clicktight Convertible Car Seat, Green Ombre SafeWash

We love this seat! All of our children use Britax seats and we feel such confidence in their safety. This seat is safe, seems comfortable (You’d have to ask our 1 year old for confirmation), easy to install, easy to adjust, and the safewash fabric is incredible! If I were choosing again I’d choose the same seat. I have recommended it to several friends. My only complaint is the lack of specificity with regards to the recline position. The indicator on the side shows a small baby with the seat 100% reclined and goes up to a larger child. There aren’t any guidelines on where your child should be, what height or age is recommended for each position, etc. If you feel confident in just eyeballing how reclined your child should be, this seat is for you! If you are a little uneasy about that it’s definitely something to consider. Like I said, we’d choose the seat again.

I am so glad for the safewash fabric, free of added chemical flame retardants! I like that the straps can tuck in the slots when baby is not in the car seat, so you don’t have to fish behind his back to get the straps out. It is a bit odd to stick my finger in to release the straps compared to our old Chicco, but I guess a kid can’t accidentally undo it.So easy to install!

Love how easy it is to install, it feels so safe and honestly my baby loves being in it! Compared to her infant car seat she is a lot happier. We have had one blow out, and it was a breeze to take off everything and wash it. Also I feel insanely happy how secure and safe she is in this car seat. I don’t really hear the clicking noise unless it’s dead quiet but I always check anyway to make sure she is in. Oh and the best part? IT DOESNT TWIST. I hated that about car seats, when you’re trying to leave but you realize it’s twisted and you stand there for 5-10 minutes with a screaming baby in a parking lot with door open... not fun. This makes putting her in so fast and when we switch cars so easy. A lot of weight off my shoulders with this purchase.

Besides the fact that this is one of the safest if not the safest car seat on the market, its also incredibly easy to use and put into my car. I have used these as a nanny and now use them as a mother. Yes it is a big car seat. Yes it is heavy. And yes it is expensive. But my child's life is more important than any of those factors.I love this car seat. END OF STORY

When buying a seat for your child, why buy anything other than the safest seat available? This is my second britax advocate clicktight, and I'll never buy anything but Britax. I've had another kind of seat, and just no. It's for emergencies only. I'm very thankful for the addition of the safewash fabric. This was not available when I had my first. I definitely recommend buying the liner, too. Crumbs collect in the bottom, under the clicktight lid, and cleaning under there is a major pain. Also, this is a pretty large seat. I drive a Ford fusion and from having two in the back I can tell that there is no way a third can fit. I can sit inbetween, so there is room for a smaller adult or child, but it's not somewhere I would want to ride for a long period of time. Also, both of my littles are rear facing and that greatly reduces the amount of legroom for the driver and front passenger. Being 5ft 5 inches I can drive comfortably but it's a different story for my 6ft 1in husband. He drives a Jeep Grand Cherokee and we find that he has the legroom issue in it, as well. It doesnt matter to me though, I'd rather get a larger vehicle than compromise on safety. Also, these are made in the USA, which is icing on the cake for me.

Great car seat except for one major point. The seat material, straps, and auto-leveling bubble are an upgrade to the older Advocate we own. The ruggedness and safety are outstanding as to be expected from Britax. All that being said, I gave it 3 stars for the way they've integrated the LATCH system. You don't have those long black buckles with the red release buttons permanently attached anymore. Now it's a strap with a clip that you feed through the ClickTight system. The clips are a PAIN to remove! You've really got to root around the seat cushions to attach and detach this clip as opposed to just pressing the older version's red release on the buckles. Also, I actually had to loosen the LATCH strap in order to close the "lid" on the ClickTight system since I tightened the strap like you're supposed to (without ClickTight). (It was a bit of trial and error, but I got the tension so it doesn't move an inch.) If you're moving this car seat in and out of your car often and expect to use LATCH system for baby/toddler, then I wouldn't recommend it. We leave the seat in the car for 3-4 months and I vacuum around it thanks to our seat protector. You'll have to deal with this issue until your child+seat equals 65 lbs or you don't want to use the LATCH system.To Britax, if you read these reviews: Personally I think you went cheap on the design by not incorporating the LATCH buckles permanently on the seat and focused your design around the ClickTight system and use of car seat-belt shoulder straps. You could have easily made the stowage compartment for the LATCH strap and clips into a stowage area for a permanently attached (and non ClickTight) buckles. This would have greatly aided parents in installing and removing the car seat using the no-brainer LATCH system.

I love this car seat. It is our second advocate and our fourth britax car seat. This was purchased to replace a 2017 model that could no longer be used after an accident (no toddler in seat at time). I previously had issues with the straps loosening but this model has been so much better. I get a safe secure fit every time.The seat is heavy due to the steal frame but it is still so easy to switch from car to car. The third level of padding/protection is really clear. We also have a Boulevard (which we also love). However I feel safer using the Advocate as our full time car seat.The covers are also easy to remove for cleaning.
