The Professional Hair Steamer by Dress Vous is made of very durable material. I received the item 2 days after placing the order. At first I was hesitant to order it because it was just recently listed and only had 3 reviews. I’m so glad I took a chance and ordered it anyway. Best decision I could have made. The first time I just gave it a test run without setting under it. It emitted a high pitch tone when I turned it on using only distilled water but I let it run anyway for about 5 minutes until the water in the cup began to boil in the cup. The high pitch stopped and a strong stream of steam started coming out. I didn’t add any salt to the distilled water, as suggested. The second time I used the hair steamer, I used only distilled water again with nothing added. It emitted the high pitch alert for only about 2 minutes before the pitch stopped, the water began to boil in the cup, and the steam began streaming out. I placed a large towel around my shoulders and tied a strip of cotton close to my hairline to absorb any drips from the steam and sat under the machine. After about 15 minutes, there were a few minor drips from the steam that accumulated on the rim of the hood but they felt warm at the time they fell and were absorbed by the towel. I then used a paper towel only twice to wipe a couple of drips from the rim but it really wasn’t necessary. I never experienced any water over flow from the cup because I only filled both the cup and tank about half full. This seems to be a really great steamer at a great price. I’m going to give the hair steamer a few more test runs to ensure it is still operating smoothly, and without setting under it to avoid damaging my hair by over steaming it. I didn’t experience ANY negative issues. If you compare the other hair steamers listed on Amazon and other websites that are made with the the same features (5 leg base, metal pole, tank, cup, High & Low switches, timer knob and hood) but advertised by different sellers at various prices, it appears they are all made by the same manufacturer. I definitely recommend this one by this seller.

The written instructions specify to use distilled water (which I went out to buy) the machine kept “screaming”when I tried to turn on. I came to Amazon to see if anyone else had the same issue and immediately realized it was the distilled water I went to 2 stores for. Annoying but once I found out to just use tap it works well and is exactly what I needed.

Broke in less than a month.. Dissatisfied at first buttttt then my husband fixed the issue (he is brilliant) works fine now. Leaks a bit at times. Can get super hot and wet. Drips alot around the rim. Overall not the best but i solid 3/5 stars✨

I must say I love my hair steamer! I had minor issues and the seller addressed the problem immediately of course it was a user error. My first use was all that I expected, my hair was nice and soft.

I ordered this product for my business and although it works well it leaks. I’m not sure where the water is coming from I’ve taken it apart numerous time to ensure all parts are placed together. Nothing has worked. Mine maybe defective.
