not bad
These aren't as good as the big commercial units we have installed in my office building, but for the cost, they are a great deal for a homeowner who needs emergency lighting in a small area.I installed this in my attached garage, above the regular (human-sized) door facing the driveway. I aimed one light straight down, and the other one at the half-flight of stairs coming up from the house, about 20 feet away. The light wasn't great, but certainly sufficient to walk around and avoid obstacles. I bought the 2-pack with the intention of putting the second one directly above the stairs, but I don't have the electrical done yet. I expect that adding the second unit will take the light from barely adequate to comfortable.Don't take "Barely adequate" the wrong way - for $20 and over 20 feet away, "barely adequate" is more than I expected.Battery life seems very good. I just had it on for more than 5 hours and didn't see any reduction in brightness. Also, I can't think of any scenarios where I'd need even an hour of emergency lighting. These are cheaply made, and they feel cheap. The backing plate is flimsy, the clips that hold the main body to the backing plate is flimsy, the mechanism that attaches and aims the light is flimsy. But who cares? You install it high, out of reach, and aim the lights once. The backing plate has keyhole knockouts to fit a variety of different mounting boxes. Make sure your box sits at least flush with the surface, or even a little proud of it. If your box sits slightly recessed, or isn't straight, use spacers. The backing plate, being flimsy, will "conform" to the surface, and if it bends too much, the cheap clips won't engage properly.

They don’t care....
These lights are terrible. STAY AWAY. I bought a case of these lights - 12 units. They were delivered in tact - meaning the case was fine, no damage was observed on the outside of the box. We placed them in storage for about 4 weeks until our electrician could mount them to replace emergency lights that had burnt out over the past 12 years in our condo complex. When our electrician opened the case to install the lights, he found that 11 of the 12 lights we bought were defective. In all of these fixtures, one of the 2 emergency lights was not afixed to the light fixture itself - instead, they were dangling by two wires from the fixture. This was a manufacturing issue and it should have been caught in the factory in China, but it was not. I do not blame the seller here in the USA for that, as they would not have known this - again, the case these lights came in, was fine. The problem I have is that when our electrician opened the case and noticed the defect, I brought it to the sellers attention right away and they did nothing. Keep in mind, we bought these lights in late January, they were shipped in early February and we attempted to install them in mid March. They closed our claim because they said that we were to late to make a claim - we had to make it within 30 days. The point to us is: these are supposed to be emergency lighting - in case of a power outage these lights are supposed to help people get out of our buildings to safety. The case was in pristine condition when we received it, we had no reason to see if all was good inside. I note that they also thought all was good because they shipped it to us uninspected at their end as well. We scheduled our electricians and they were the ones who found that these lights were defective coming from the factory. To me, the fact that this company - the ones who sold these emergency lights too us, and who decided to not even look into the situation in regards to the manufacturing defects with these lights, and who callously dismissed our issue with these defective lights and decided to do nothing about it - have zero integrity. One would think that they would want to get to the bottom of this and to make sure that all of the emergency lighting they sell is in perfect working order. Instead, it seems they don’t give a damn. We were not even seeking a refund, we just wanted to return the defective lights for lights that were manufactured correctly, but they were unconcerned about it. They received their $ 200.00 and that was all they cared about. Look - we purchased emergency lighting. We expected it to be properly assembled at the factory and delivered to us in good working order. It was not. It makes no difference if these lights were defective from day one or day 60 - they were defective the day the day they were shipped from the factory. If you cared about your business, if you cared about your customers and if you cared about the integrity your company, I don’t think you would say “ Oh well, the product had issues but to bad for you, you missed our artificial deadline to return it by a week, you burn”.If you choose to buy from them then all I say to all of you, is to make sure you check everything these people send you, because after 30 days, they don’t give a damn. That is sad. All we are asking for is for them to give us what we thought we purchased in the first place, emergency lighting, correcty assembled. Once again, we have never sought a refund- rather we would be most delighted to send these defective lights back to them in exchange for lights that are correctly assembled. I do not think that is too much to ask.

It is easy to adjust the direction of the lights
Easy to mount over a standard electrical box. Had to use two additional screws. Not the appropriate fixture if you need to add a pigtail to plug it in.

Inexpensive emergency light!!
We live in a rural area with many trees along our power lines. So we often lose power. This is a great option for us to have a cheap and immediate means of light when this happens. Especially when it’s dark outside.

work great, just make sure you have someone help you ...
work great , just make sure you have someone help you that knows somethingabout wiring , you will have to either have your own plug and wire or wirethe lights direct into your house wiring , PLUG NOT INCLUDED . Besides thewiring up on installation , they work great so far after one month of use , mypower went off once and these light came right on providing excellent light .Note to manufacturer wire a eight foot cord when making , buyers do not wantthis problem , not everyone knows how to wire up a plug or don't want to bebothered with having to go buy a plug .
