The inside diameter of the female end is 1 3/4” and there is no way to fit it on to the 2” backwash pipe coming from my pool filter. The outside diameter of the male end is 1 7/8”, so with the hose clamp supplied with my 2” backwash hose, it’s easy to tighten it to the 1 7/8” male end.

We have to haul water from a municipal system to our house in the country, and these "cam-lock" fittings are quick to attach and detach. I prefer these aluminum fittings to the plastic ones, as they seem much more substantial (although somewhat heavier). The quality of this fitting is good, especially for the price.
