Great outdoor AP.
I've used these in commercial outdoor applications and have found them to be both great performers as well as very durable. Most recently I installed 6 in an outdoor dock area that is exposed to constant salt spray and harsh conditions. In over 2 years of use none have failed or had problems. Overall, well made and reliable. Highly recommended.

Perfect for a larger space! Just what I needed.
The enGenius wireless Access Point is an absolutely amazing addition to my network. I have Xfinity High Speed which is capable of some fast speeds. Out in the back yard we would have intermittent connectivity or a complete lack of WiFi signal. In researching options, I came across this item. Prior to making the purchase, I reached out to EnGenius for some technical advice. My email inquiry was responded to immediately and I received the advice I was in need of.Buyers should be aware that you will need some sort of a computer, laptop, or other peripheral that will allow you direct Ethernet access for setting up the device. Once setup, the device can be removed and placed wherever you need it to be (it will store the settings even without power). Following the provided QuickStart guide, it could not have been easier to set up. I elected to set up the enGenius AP onto the same SSID and password phrase as my normal router so that there is no need to switch WiFi SSID’s when you go outside and connect to the AP. The unit comes with a Power Injector that allows the AP to power over the Ethernet cable. So you will need to have a power outlet near your router that you can plug the injector into. Then one Ethernet cable will run from your EnGenius AP POE injector to your router, and another cable from the injector to the AP. My advice is to buy a nice cat6 cable for the long run as a cheap cable can really impair performance. I ran a Cat6 cable through my attic and out the eve to where I mounted the unit to the side of my house. This run was a bit over 50’.I powered on the unit and was blown away at the speeds and solid connection I was able to obtain. On my back patio area, I get consistent 400-500 Mbps. As a test, i walked to the back of my property which is approximately 100 yards from the AP and was able to get 12 Mbps!!! That is 600 feet away!!!

Low power output. Works only if outside above your building in the clear.
To get this unit working you might have to call customer service. They were great and very helpful. I know the subject well but with this unit even I had to call. It has less than 150' range to a smart phone but when in range works well. It does multiple users well and has good bandwidth. My only thing was the instructions could have been better. Like "here is how to set it up as an AP". But they don't cover much in the paperwork. I would buy this again as it is worth the money. But don't expect great range unless your real high on a tower and use sector " directional" antennas.

no warranty support
I had owned the ENS620EXT for 11 months and used it for approximately 9 months when it stopped working. I contacted Engenius for warranty support on June 28 and received a RMA number on July 7. My defect access point was received by Engenius on July 12. For their RMA process Engenius estimates that repaired items are returned within 10-15 days after they were received. Because I received no status updates from Engenius within that time frame, I followed up on July31 and received a response on August 10, stating "....it looks like we have received them and are waiting on warehouse to process your RMA . We apologize for any inconveniences." I have not received the repaired item or any additional information as of today, August 23rd. Bottom line, I have been without the access point for 2 months, and still don't know when the item will be repaired and shipped back to me. Customer service has been unreachable over the phone throughout the whole time. The product is fine when it works, but I cannot recommend this brand due to the lack of customer support.

Good outdoor extender, but you need a weatherproof box for the power supply
Setup is fairly straight forward if you know how to set up other routers. Mounted with two screws to a post. The only real drawback is that while the repeater is weatherproof, the power supply is not. I had to purchase a weatherproof box to put the POE power supply in and plug that into an outlet. The power cord is also very short (3' i think) so i had to also purchase a longer power cord (look up mickey mouse power cord... it's what the plug looks like) so I had enough slack to run from the plug to the weatherproof box. I recommend doing this is the power socket is outside. If you run the ethernet power from inside an enclosure, you don't have to do this. Customer support responded within 24 hours of email questions. My garage blocks half my back yard from my router, so this enhances the coverage of the entire yard now (backyard is about 4000 ft2).So technically a 5 star product performance, but dinged a star for the short power cord and non-weatherproof POE box when the product is supposed to be mounted outside. Even if the power supply is in a covered area, I wouldn't leave that electronic box exposed to the general elements.

It does the trick!
The product comes with relatively easy GUI based setup. I’ve been using it for quite some time and it handles the job adequately. Our main problem was to get coverage in the back side of the building and the ens620ext has not let us down. The coverage outside is just perfect now. I’ve placed it in the far-side of the building that overlooks the coffee shops and I can proudly say that I my team have full bars when they go on lunch break. Getting full bars while 120 yards away was just a distant dream for us! I will keep an eye on it but I what I like what I see so far.

Great Access Point for business or home.
I purchased this from a recommendation by a friend that uses EnGenius products for a site that he manages.+This was ordered to replace a failed router that was being used as an access point. This is a commercial product but priced for the home. Many features that make setting up a home or business wireless access point very easy. Power over Ethernet allows this to be put in any location that you can run a network cable. Offers security that is above what many home users will ever need. Has a setting for guest access. Just for those times when you want to give your friends access without giving access to your whole network. My only complaint for a quick setup is DHCP server is not part of the system and you have to configure your present DHCP server to provide the IP addresses.

Engenius robustos
Buen equipo muy robusto, compatible con todos los engenius anteriores, muy intuitivo en configurar, trabajan los radios al mismo tiempo, se le puede poner antena externa para mayor alcance, viene restringido para America (desde Canada hasta Argentina)

TERRIBLE.
This thing is aweful. It is hardwired to my modem and STILL loses internet connection constantly. It’s wired via ethernet cable...and still drops its connectivity to the modem. and constantly needs to be factory reset every 3-4 days. It’s fine for 3-4 days and then nothing but trouble. I’m done. Finished. Fail.
