Lyman E-Zee Trim Hand Case Trimmer, Handgun Set 7821892 , Black

Works great. I did about 50 shells with the hand trimmer part and then switched over to the power adapter when my hand started to get tired. Works great. Trims each shell to the same length each time. Rather than something like the Hornady product where you trim 1 shell to the desired length, and then every shell from there on out is the same. But, if you changed calibers and then came back to the previous caliber, it might very rather difficult to get the exact same length again.You do have to have your own shellholder. I believe it states that in the description, but just in case you missed that, make sure you have your own. I have Lee dies and thus have their shellholders (and those dies get put into a Hornady press; I have quite the conglomeration of brands) and they work just fine with the Lyman trimmer.My hand does get tired after some time, from gripping the shell holder with one hand and the drill in the other, so I can't go for very long. I might eventually go something I can mount to my bench, but this works well for now.

I posted a question earlier and received no answers, so please allow me to clear the air. I require 45 Colt and 45-70 trimmer capable equipment.The handgun set fails to include 45 Colt. The Rifle set also fails to include 45-70. I purchased the handgun set and 45 Colt & 45-70 separately.Thus I know have a trimmer for 45 Colt and 45-70.The original question was if they were interchangeable? It appears all you need do is purchase the appropriate pilot gauge.

I have tried these and they do work but loading the case into the shell holder and tightening up the nurled bolt to hold it in gets old very quickly. I have bought a competitor case trimmer that is easier to use that I now use all the time. There are better trimmers available for the money.

I have searched for an easy and accurate trimming system for years and have spent hundreds of dollars doing so just to be frustrated. Lyman's system is easy to use and consistent. It doesn't take an hour to set it up for each caliber, just change the shell holder and pilot and you are good to go. It's some what like the Zip Trim but you don't have to pull a cord or fumble with an adjustable chuck for the case. The three other trimmers are now stored under the bench no longer taking up valuable work space and the E-ZEE trim is stored in the same storage box as my case brushes, thus taking up no additional space. I purchased the hand gun set but was unable to get three pilots, the .380, 44 special, and the 7.62x39 rifle pilots for the calibers that I load. Lyman doesn't offer them at this time, hopefully they will soon.

This is a must have for case trimming convenience.

I haven't used these yet, but I purchased the rifle ones and loved them. I expect the same utility from the pistol version. I want use the drill function , but haven't as of yet.

It does what its advertized to do. It was quite simple to set up and use. It comes in a nice reusable skin pack if you so choose to store it in its own container. I couldn't be happier.

I prefer these over the Lee. The big knurled pieces make working with these a breeze.
