Walt Disney's Uncle Scrooge: The Diamond Jubilee Collection

I reside in the Philippines and ordered this book on Dec 25 along with two others authored by Carl Barks: one Donald Duck; the other Uncle Scrooge. All three arrived 10 days ahead of the scheduled delivery date of Jan 13 date. Very well packaged.

This and Bear Mountain Tales, and pretty much every Rosa or Barks work - they speak for themselves, as discrete entities of four-color genius as refreshing as sunlight after a dull, tedious winter inside. Or in the midst of that winter, don your best robe, your Pendleton wool jammies, fire up some chamomile tea and simply linger. Me, my children (13, 12, 8) all get into them. Nice darn binding too. I have the biggest Rosa HC ever published from last year too; I keep that with my Taschen Rocky book.

Since I purchased the Carl Barks Library in the 1980's, and read many of the comics from which these tales were lifted in the '50's and '60's, I KNOW that none of these tales originated in Europe, which the editorial banter introducing each story indicates. Is this an approach to avoid royalties owed the Barks estate on US copyrighted stories? This is a bigger mystery than any portrayed in the book faced by Uncle Scrooge and his kin.

The book itself seems wonderful quickly flipping through. Disappointing to see this pricey book already damaged when unboxing though.If anyone has any suggestions on how to fix the corner I’d love to hear them.

Paging through this beautiful collection of Uncle Scrooge's comics brings back so many fond memories...the product is top quality and the price on this was well worth the emotions it recalled for me.

It’s too bad that a book of this size (it’s a really heavy and big book) and they sent it with not enough protection the book was litteraly flying inside the package

Quel monstre, ce bouquin !!Sa taille et son poids sont impressionnants !Aucune surprise sur les dessins, c'est du Barks. Les quelques illustrations en début d'histoire sont vraiment chouettes.Il y a deux points noirs à mon goût : - Le prix, bien évidemment, - La tranche qui parait super fragile alors que le livre n'est pas protégé dans le carton. Nous avons commandé 4 livres et tous étaient plus ou moins abimés !

I really like the attention to all the details they added in this book, the paper is heavy and the illustrations top notch! A real collector's item, even though I own most of the stories, I wanted to have them in one big book - and I was not disappointed!
