The hard drive is amazing, works great no problems but I got to throw this out there! When you go to download the system update from Sony you need to download the larger one! The system update file should be close to 900mbs, the 300 mbs won't work. Hopefully I can save some people a head ache

I would have been happy if this would have worked but there was an issue with it. I assumed new meant that the hard drive had to be installed in the housing case for it. In the package I received the hard drive was already installed and it looked like it was installed backwards. Unfortunately I couldn't switch it around because the hard drive was already screwed into the housing case and the screws were striped at the top so they could not be unscrewed. Therefore, it was unfix-able. I returned it the same day I received it. I gave it 3 stars because I did get a fast refund (it took a few days for them to receive the item back) with no hassle.

I like that it was super simple to install, but I do not like how bulky my PS4 looks now. I have a limited edition batman PS4 and because this requires me to remove the plate off the ps4, everything about the "batman" portion of the system had to be removed. I really like having batman on my ps4, but I like having 4TB more.

The company sent an email explaining what and how to get the correct firmware before I got the unit. Everything went smoothly. Just remember that everything does get lost. The backups save your progress in the games but you still have to reinstall every game again. Readd your users and any apps you were using. But the additional space makes up for it. :) I am pleased with both the product and the company.

Speedy delivery, easy installation, no problems with the download or uploads, instructions were easy to follow and they even followed up with me to make sure everything arrived and worked perfectly. Great quality and service.

Installation instructions were clear and extremely easy to setup. Main problem is with multiplayer games such as The Division or GTA V the hard drive seems slow. A loading symbol may appear, gameplay may freeze for 10 to 60 seconds, or the ps4 may crash completely displaying a software failure error. Have tried deleting the games & reinstalling, same issues. Have reinitialized the system 3 times. With update 4.06, the hard drive is doing much better. Less loading/freezing/crashing issues while playing a game. However, crashing after putting the ps4 to rest has become more frequent. Single player games with the internet turned off also display loading issues and rare crashes. The sound is the first thing to stop, then a few seconds later the screen will freeze. All gameplay is frozen during this time, unlike multiplayer games where gameplay continues without you. This lasts around 10 - 20 seconds. I may reinitialize the system one more time with the most current update 4.07, but the time spent backing up saves, setting up the ps4, downloading games/updates(20+ hours per game), and transferring save files back to ps4 over and over again is frustrating. If anyone has any tips on how to improve its performance, I am open to suggestions. Thank you

a lot of work to install but they make it easy to do. the instructions provided was great.

Fairly easy to assemble, semi clear directions, although mine were not for the right model. Was able to fill it with games, system ran smoothly.A week later I got an error screen when I turned it on. I had to uninstall expansion and reinstall the original hard drive.Massive waste of money, would not recommend. Attached is the screen shot when the device is installed.

I was not sure about this, but I purchased the 4TB model, install was simple. The instructions were easy to follow. I've had this a few weeks now all working great. Very happy with the product it means I can have all my games installed at once. I've noticed that install time from disc is faster then it was before on my internal 1TB.

Upgrade for PS4 quick to instal , clear instruction book cheaper then buying a new PS4 as I have gone from original 500 to 4tb now loads of storage space for new games

great value. not so easy to set up as instructions slightly fell short to what was needed, but they made an sffort to help in the instructions . great value.
