Rabbit Hole Heigold Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey, 70 cl

Wow, wow, wow! What a Bourbon.The colour is like honey or dark amber, the aroma is sweet but not harsh.It flows like liquid gold and what a find.I love a good bourbon. Price tags mean nothing to ME specifically. I’ve had expensive rubbish and fantastic cheap.This is probably higher-mid range for the average consumer. It’s a fine weekend drink with a cigar in the garden, it’s a good show off because the bottle and the thick lid are so well made and look expensive.I had mine in an Old Fashioned. I’ve had it straight, on the rocks and in Bourbon Sour and it just works in so many ways. Each variety brought out flavours of sweetness, butterscotch and oak. It’s strong, at the higher point of 47% and I usually stick to no more than 45% usually. A percentage can make a difference to strength and taste of you’re hardcore in this game.But believe me, it’s a fine drink. Fabulous straight, on the rocks or in a cocktail (Mine being the Old Fashioned)It’s pricey, so if you’re budgeting, keep this as your treat drink or party show off treat or for whatever occasion you can think of.I’ve sank half of this bottle, sadly and I can see myself in the next month getting another.It’s probably one of the finest Bourbons I’ve ever had, and I don’t say that lightly.Beautiful. Don’t make this your night cap tipple, make it your weekend treat and then it’ll taste all the sweeter, big brash bottle, fine bourbon, a cigar (in my case) and you’ll feel a millionaire for a bit.

Packaging, labelling and bottle design are all of a good premium quality. I was keen to try the drink as it has some different characteristics than some other bourbons I am used to, namely the high rye double malt content. Upon smelling the whisky it has a sweet caramel note to it with a not too intense aroma. Tasting neat this drink is relatively smooth especially for the high alcohol content it has of 47.5% the whiskey has a caramel taste which matches the smell, I found it pretty sweet to drink and after swallowing got a vanilla, spicy / peppery aftertaste which did not last too long, but long enough to enjoy. This whiskey is nice to be sipped as it is, although some may prefer some ice in it or even to use it as a mixer in a cocktail maybe. Personally I think for the price it would be a waste not to drink this neat. It is a nice change from the everyday bourbons that every whiskey drinker is used to. This is a small batch award winning America's Best Kentucky Small Batch Bourbon in this years awards (2022 as time of writing).Overall it is a good solid bourbon although more expensive than the every day ones but definitely worth a try for a change. 5 stars

An American Bourbon doing a very good job of matching a Scottish Single Malt.

This is a great bottle of plonk! Not only does the bottle look absolutely fab in my bar vut it tastes really good too! My father in law loved it that much I don't really get a look in but he enjoyed himself. Great value for money thankyou!

First a disclaimer: I know nothing about whiskey, bourbon or any other alcohol for that matter. I don't even know what's the difference between a bourbon and a whiskey to be honest. BUT, what I do know is that I either like or don't like something. And Rabbit Hole - I like very much!I never heard about Rabbit Hole before, so upon receiving the package I did a little online search and I LOVE the brand story. Basically a lovely gentleman one day decided to quit his successful career as a doctor and opened a bourbon distillery. At a point in life where others usually just go through the motions, he's actually turned his dream into reality and this is the result.The bottle design is quite unusual and looks very good. You can see a lot of attention to detail here, from the shape of the glass to the placement and the design on the label - it's all made with great care and looks the part. This is an a sophisticated drink and the packaging reflects it.Now onto the taste - as mentioned earlier, I am a casual drinker - I cannot really distinguish all of the different flavours and aromas but one thing I can tell for sure - for such a high-alcohol content (47.5%!) it tastes soo smooth. It does have a certain bite to it, but it's mellow enough (for me) to drink straight.The drink has a lovely colour which reminds me of those late summer afternoons filled with golden sunshine.I think it's a very classy drink with a mellow taste for it's alcohol content. And it's a product of someone's passion and dedication. I actually liked it so much I would love to see it available in my local shops - it's really a great tasting bourbon and I highly recommend you try it! You won't be disappointed. Great product.

I’m quite impressed with this drink! I’m not really a whiskey drinker but this drink is nice. It smells quite strong and just like any other whiskey upon first opening but the smell mellows after a while and has a smooth almost caramel like aroma. The taste is also really smooth and mellow. I love the bottle.

Even before opening the bottle this is quite impressive because the bottle itself has a distinctive shape, square but curvy, with a rabbit design moulded onto it.Personally I hardly drink alcohol, but the verdict from our son is that it is "actually lovely, little fruity taste to it. I drank it neat and it was really smooth with a mild afterburn. Well worth the money it is priced at." He is a bit of a fan of whiskey and a collector, so if he says it tastes good then I am sure it does!

Nice bottle of high percentage whiskey at , nearly half ( 47.5% )All in a beautiful shape bottle, would be great to have an optional gift box.This goes nicely with anything, especially citrus ( OJ, lemon, or grapefruit ) or on its own, it's a bit peppery, hence a bit of sour notes will go down well.Also try the smoker to infuse some fruit flavours, still experimenting the right balance.Good for the drink cupboard.
