Give me an Emerson
This is my first Sara Cate book and easily one of my top reads of the year. I fell absolutely head over heels for Emerson and Charlie. I’m so glad it is part of a series because I cannot get enough of this world. One Thursday night, Emerson was hanging out with his work friends and a business idea came to mind. A place that brings people with similar kinks together and allows them to explore their sexuality without judgement. Next day, the Salacious Players’ Club was born.Charlie broke up with her bf Beau and needed her part of the deposit on the apartment back. He told her to collect it from his dad. When she showed up, Emerson told her to kneel thinking she was one of his submissives. Charlie was desperate for the money, so she obliged. He quickly found out who she was. With the hope of reconnecting with his son, he offered her a job as his secretary at the club.Emerson is the ultimate alpha, strong, protective and caring. He was intrigued by Charlie from day one, beautiful, bold and outspoken. She was not bothered by the stigma around sexual fantasies and even initiated to explore them with him. Not wanting to ruin his relationship with Beau, he kept his distance but he felt more drawn to her as each day passed. Charlie too was falling hard and fast for Emerson. For the first time in a long time, she felt special, happy and treasured.I adore these two so much, their chemistry, their dynamics, their love. The age gap and ex-boyfriend’s dad elements created the right amount of forbiddenness and angst. I really enjoyed how the couple navigated the dom/sub relationship. The storyline is amazing, the characters are incredible and the writing just flows so well. Praise has the perfect mix of humour, swoon, spice and love. Highly recommend you to read it if you haven’t already!

Amazing!
I was hooked on this book! Everything was just perfect! I HAD SOME HIGH EXPECTATIONS WHEN STARTING THIS BOOK ANDIT CERTAINLY DIDN'T DISAPPOINT! WHERE DO I EVEN BEGIN?!CHARLIE'S GROWTH THROUGHOUT THE BOOK WAS AMAZING TO SEE,IT WASN'T JUST ONE INSTANCE WHERE SHE SHOWED HER STRENGTHAND CONFIDENCE, SARA ADDED QUITE A FEW SCENES FOR IT AND ITHOUGHT THAT WAS BETTER FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF HERCHARACTER.MY FAVOURITE SCENE WAS THE EXHIBITION SCENE, I HAVE NEVERREAD SOMETHING LIKE THAT BEFORE - I THINK THAT'S BECAUSE ICAN RELATE TO THE EARLY CHAPTERS OF CHARLIE AND HOW SHETHINKS ABOUT HERSELF. EMERSON WAS JUST MOUTH WATERINGLYPERFECT. NOT A BAD THING TO SAY ABOUT HIM!I CAN'T WAIT TO READ THE REST OF THE SERIES AND RECEIVE MYSIGNED PAPERBACK OF PRAISE!

Hot!
4.5 StarsI enjoyed this book so much. It had everything I love in my smutty reads - voyeurism, sex club, age-gap, Dominant MMC. It was nice to get lost in this world for the last couple of days. Emerson is HOT!! I loved how much Charlotte grew over the course of the book. I wish we saw more of Eden in the book and I would have loved more spice/club scenes.Fun read!

No words! OMG 🖤
Praise is not my first book by Sara Cate. I've been a fan of her books for a long time! I wish I could pick my favorite book by Sara, but I can not because she delivers every time, and she makes me fall in love with every story.I was excited about this book from the moment Sara Cate announced it, and this book was everything I did not know I needed. Praise was a steamy and forbidden read that kept me hooked until the end; this book had emotions, kinks, drama, and angst.Emerson wants to get his son Beau back, and he feels that he can get closer to him by hiring Charlotte, his son's ex, as his secretary. However, Emerson never expected Charlie to be perfect for him, everything he has been looking for and has not been able to find.Charlotte just wanted to pick up the check from her deposit and move on. What she never imagined was to feel an inexplicable feeling and interest towards the dad of her ex, and when he offers her a job as his secretary, she can't turn down his offer.Emerson & Charlie were everything! Their dom/sub relationship, that sizzling chemistry between them, and the age gap were so hot. And let me not talk about that praise kink! No words. Emerson & Charlie will try to deny the pull they feel for each other; there is a constant back and forth, but they can't lie to themselves forever. Sooner than later, they give in to what they have been denying themselves, but some things will keep them from giving completely into their relationship. After what she has been through, Charlie loves how she feels with Emerson, but she struggles with loving herself and knowing her value, despite how much Emerson adores her and tries to show Charlie her worth. Emerson feels so much for Charlie, he is very protective of her and slightly possessive, but he worries about his son Beau and fears losing him.I recommend this book so much! And I can not wait for the next book in this series.

An impassioned and socially aware journey into the world of Kink
This book tickled a part of my brain that isn’t often touched by a book that could, by all accounts, be considered an erotica novel. It displays an exploration into the world of BDSM, kink and relationship subculture that I think is often over sensationalized or explored from a place of ignorance and does it in such an elegant and refined way that it truly made BDSM, as a subculture and a genre, it brought new life to BDSM in concept and offered readers a one-way ticket glimpse into the world without being explicitly in your face and aggressive about the concepts of sex and kink at large. For context, Praise, and the accompanying books, center around the Salacious Players’ Club, a sex club created with the pure intention of providing a safe and inclusive space for individuals to explore their sexual desires and kinks, whatever they may be. The book series centers around the core management of the club, and their respective love interests, each going down a deep rabbit hole of passion, desire and carnality.Praise, the first book of the set, follows Charlie, who on the coattails of a bad breakup with her then boyfriend, ends up meeting his father when she goes to collect her part of a security deposit for an apartment she and her ex were going to get together. Enter Emerson Grant, our hero and primary love interest. After a miscommunication and misunderstanding between himself and Charlie, they two’s relationship begins rocky, at best, and develops into this tempestuous and exploratory affair for the both of them.Charlie is the type of strong but struggling protagonist you want to read. She isn’t infallible and recognizes that she’s dealing with some trauma and co-dependency on those around her due to some familial background details and a neglectful romantic relationship. There were times when I find her naivete and innocence to be frustrating, but all in all, it made her that much more relatableEmerson, too, was an amazing love-interest, and is written in such a way that you understand Charlie’s infatuation. Something I liked a lot about the way Emerson was portrayed is the way he recognizes the taboo nature of their relationship and spurns it in the beginning, further allowing the story to develop into this grand exploratory slow burn perfection. There were a lot of aspects about this book that I enjoyed a lot. The realistic exploration of angst and the discovery of BDSM/Kink, the complexity of Charlie and Emerson's relationship, the slow burn development of the romantic and sexual inclinations between the two that is slowly built up from the start of the book to the penultimate scene where Emerson finally cracks and relents to Charlie, or shall we say Charlotte’s, desires and whims. For being such a quick read, Praise was certainly the type of emotionally intelligent, socially aware read that I needed, and I’ve already fallen in love with the Salacious Players’ Club and Sara Cate’s writing style is so light, and yet, complex simultaneously providing for a thought provoking, mentally stimulating and impassioned reading experience.Always be aware of any trigger or content warnings before delving into any book of erotic nature, but if you’re looking for a book that is equal parts plot and character development and spice, than the Salacious Players’ Club, and Praise, is for you.

Holy Hell
Wow. This was my first Sara Cate book and I’m obsessed. If you were a fan of Birthday Girl and The Doctor you need to stop what you are doing and read this book because Sara Cate’s book is 1000 times better (and I loved both birthday girl and the doctor). I can’t wait to read the rest of the series!

Good girl
A beautiful broken Charlie finds herself at her ex boyfriend's dads house. After going through so much with her ex boyfriend, Charlie is low. But when she meets Emerson, there is an immediate spark.I love how we see Charlie grow in the story. Emerson contributes a lot but still it is Charlie that takes charge to get Emerson to agree with taking on Charlie as his sub. They were so good together. Every time I read "Good girl." I was swooning. The kink praise in this book is so well written. I have not read one like this book ever. And with such hot steamy scenes.Dual 1st person POV is so amazing. I ate it up.The thing that makes me like all the friends/owners from the Salacious Players' Club, is that they do not judge eachother. They all have their thing and that makes it even better. And also makes you curious to their own books. There was a small detail I did not like in the book but that is entirely personal. That it why it is only a four star read.Age gap, praise kink, ex boyfriends dad, boss/secretary -> One hot combo

Hello Emerson GRANT!!
“Rule 28: When he tells you you’re worth it, believe it.”Like every book, I went into this book blind! I was recommended this book by someone and told there was a lot of spice but that it’s such a good book and to read it next time I was in a reading slump.Well she wasn’t wrong!! This book was definitely Spicey, it was so different from anything I personally have read before. I don’t what I was expecting but it definitely wasn’t this storyline. Am I mad about it? NO. Was it strange at times? YES. Will I continue to read the rest of the series? ABSOLUTELY.One of my favourite things about this book was the quotes/ affirmations/ rules at the start of each chapter. It helped me guess what was coming next, without ruining it.Emerson Grant… 🥵omg. Hello new book husband who just opened a new world I knew nothing about but at strangely curious and intrigued about.Overall, I really enjoyed this book, I would 100% recommend it just check the content warning.

Easily one of my favorite reads of 2022
The absolute, unadulterated, all-consuming love that I have for this book...Where do I even begin?Well, for posterity's sake, some backstory: a good bookstagram friend of mine mentioned this book to me last week, and when I heard the words "praise kink", I immediately dropped everything and looked up the book. After seeing all of the amazing reviews and reading the premise, my instincts told me that I needed to pick this baby up immediately, even though I had already gone over budget book-wise for the month. My gut/instincts have yet to lead me astray when it comes to books, and Praise was no exception. This book was everything I wanted it to be and somehow even more. It was also what I needed.Charlie is a young woman who has never really struggled with insecurity, but after having her father bail on her family after her baby sister came out, and then surviving an emotionally abusive and neglectful relationship, her sense of self-worth has definitely taken a beating.Enter her ex-boyfriend's father...Now I won't get into the details of this book because you absolutely should just read it, but let's just say that after this, I am officially a Sara Cate fan. This book handles all facets of kink and the BDSM scene beautifully and with the respect it deserves and doesn't always get - and I'm not just talking about the physical aspect/the smut (although, let's be real - the spicy stuff is amazingly written). But the way Sara handles the emotional/psychological aspect as well is just phenomenal. So many romance writers throw kink into their books in an effort to be edgy or avant-garde, but so few actually do it justice.Sara Cate is the exception.I could praise (pun intended) this book for days, but I'll spare you. If you've got a praise kink (or just enjoy reading about it); if you enjoy the scene/BDSM or are even curious about it (no worries if you're the latter. This isn't the hard stuff. If anything, it's a good intro); if you've got a weakness for office or forbidden romance; if you love complex relationships with slow-burn s3xu@l tension, but also realistic angst; if you enjoy misunderstandings that end with someone on their knees; if you want an emotionally intelligent romance that has the perfect combination of heart, heat, and character growth - Praise just might be for you.Obviously, if taboo topics are a turnoff (in this case, it's age-gap + dating my ex-boyfriend's dad), perhaps do a bit more research before diving in, but regardless, I can't recommend this book enough. It's so well written. The age gap. The forbidden romance. The emotion. The angst. The spice. It's so good. All of it is so, so good.I can't wait to read more from this series, and more from Sara in general.Easily one of my favorite reads of 2022.Now tell me I'm a good girl... ;)
