These dies what I was told it’s do- adds an eggy flavor to a tofu scramble, tofu ‘egg’ salad or such. But I don’t make that often enough to justify the size. Although small, I’ll never get through this jar!

The sodium content of this product is wrong as shown in the item image on the Nutrition Facts portion of the label. Label shown on the Amazon site shows 0mg of sodium per 1/4 teaspoon. When the item arrived the label shows the sodium content as 365mg per1/4 teaspoon. This is a non-returnable item, so I had to contact Amazon Help via telephone to resolve the issue of getting a refund of the purchase price.

I bought this because I'm a heart failure patient looking for salt substitutes that aren't as awful as potassium chloride. If salt is not a concern of yours, it's super tasty, just like what I've had on Chaat (prior to diagnosis).HOWEVER the label that shows 0mg of sodium is a straight up lie. After reading further, I believe they are selling this black salt as a "nutritional supplement" instead of a food product, which is largely unregulated, and allows them to quasi-legally lie about the sodium content.Buyer beware.

This is not how black salt should taste. There's no sulphur smell, just rancid chemically. Buy another brand.
