Love this style, but be sure to purchase their newest model!
Last summer I first purchased this product through my prime, having it shipped through Amazon and Amazon sent me a "defective" one. I contacted the company right away and I was told that the problem was with the hammocks Amazon had, that it was a bad batch, but if while buying it on amazon I picked hammock bliss as the vender I would get one that was from a better batch. The company exchanged the broken one for one they claimed to have tested. I thought all would be good. It was last fall, I used it a lot then. But a few days before forth of July weekend I went out to look through my gear and set things up before I took things out camping after stuff having been in storage sense last fall and found another rip in the netting! I contacted Hammock Bliss. They were very apologetic and asked me to send pictures of the tear and the netting. Apparently they have updated the netting so it's in three sections and constructed in a way that is harder to rip. After a few emails and pictures sent, they saw I did indeed have the older model with one big section of netting, not three and I quickly received a replacement hammock in the mail.I gotta say, this new one really does seem stronger and better constructed. Keep in mind, if your going to buy this product I would highly recommend trying to get the newer version. I don't know if the ones in the Amazon warehouse are the old kind or newer model. It might be best to choose hammock bliss as the vendor, they might be the most likely to have the newest model. Your call. You can always email them and ask at [email protected]. They have awesome response time and are friendly, down to earth folk!I should tell you my Sky Bed without netting is on the front porch permanently, and I have nothing but good things to say about the design of the hammock itself. I love the asymmetric lay and the sleeve for putting a camping pad in. I got the one with the netting, after falling in love with the original Sky Bed, because I wanted it for camping up north and hanging out back with my dogs. I sleep in the one on the front porch regularly, which is how I knew I already loved this style of hammock, so I just needed another to keep the bugs out and protect me from the squirrels throwing black walnuts from the tree above! I loved it so much, when it did its job, and could not wait to take it to camp in. I'm gonna test this new one in the backyard a lot before I trust it with the up north bugs!Oh, one more thing. I am disabled and find sleeping in a hammock to be the only way I can sleep without pain. But, after using an ENO Double and a Hennessy, I gotta say HB's asym style with the slot for my camping pad is the magic that makes hammock camping really work for my body. And a big plus, I never get too cold underneath cause of the pad. Also, getting in and out of this one is so much easier in so many ways compared to any other hammocks, including the bottom entrance my Hennessy allows, I just don't even want to bother laying in anything other than one of these. I highly recommend this style of hammock, especially if you deal with pain issues that sleeping on a bed can make worse.

With a fiber top quilt this works great! It is also more comfortable (and lighter) than ...
I got this hammock because of the pad sleeve. I use an insulated ultralight air bed in the sleeve for insulation and the possibility that I may arrive in a place without any trees and be forced to go to ground. I got it for kayaking and wanted a system that could stand up to the wet environment of water travel in the Pacific Northwest. Down under quilts don't do well around saltwater but the air mattress is impervious to wet. I use the air mattress because it's got four inches of loft for my creaky frame but a foam pad would work for a younger traveler. With a fiber top quilt, this works great! It is also more comfortable (and lighter) than my other major brand hammocks so I use it for hiking now also. I replaced the line that came with it with Dyneema whoopie slings and made a couple of soft shackles out of the extra line for a very lightweight and quick setup. It's a couple of years later and I still love the Hammock Bliss sky Bed Bug Free. The 20-inch pad is a little narrow around my shoulder area so I take a little foam sitz-pad to bed to put under my shoulder and problem solved.

NO it does NOT lay flat. absolutely not.
I hesitate to give such a bad review on this product- simply because IF it worked the way they claimed, it would be amazing. The quality of the hammock is great, the zipper works great, and I can tell the netting is going to do the trick- BUT. I do not see, in any way, how this hammock lays flat no matter what I do to adjust it. Once I have the pad in, it's honestly just a pad running diagonally through my back. There is absolutely no way to lay diagonal once I have this hammock up- and it's laughable, really- that anyone has been able to make it work that way. I am overwhelmed with two feelings about this- anger on the side that I spent $100 for a regular mosquito net hammock... and on the other hand- humility- because trying to make it work literally had me falling over laughing. This thing does NOT work the way they say. Prove me wrong. Tell me what I'm doing incorrectly. I may make a video and post to youtube because it is so obviously not going to work it's almost funny. Almost.

Very good camping hammock
Not sure how to proceed with this review, I guess that the hammock itself worked great. I used it during a camping excursion in the backwoods of Alaska. This kept me up off the ground and it was reasonably comfortable once I had it set up properly. The key is to use the proper mattress pad and I used the Outdoorsman Lab Lightweight Self Inflating Sleeping Pad. This pad fits properly in the hammock sleeve, and provides a layer of insulation that keeps you comfortable, I'm sure other pads would work just as well. The set up was quick and easy using the hammock straps. Mack sure to use an awning that is larger than the hammock, I used a 9' awning that covered the entire hammock but some rain did get past the awning from an angle one night, no big deal. Where I have the problem with the review, is that when I received the hammock there was a manufacturer's defect. The netting had a bad stick on one side and it was not attached to the hammock for about 2" of the seam. Now the manufacturer did make it right, they offered to replace the hammock, but since I needed it fairly soon they had me stitch the non-structural seam myself and they provided me with hammock straps free of charge. That was my choice and I have nothing bad to say about their customer service. I just have to question the quality control if that was allowed to get out the warehouse door. I fully recommend the hammock, I am larger, 6'2" and 275lbs, and this was comfortable and strong. Just make sure to check the hammock when you receive it. First thing you should do is take it outside and set it up when you receive it.

Great hammock
Very comfortable hammock. When combined with the right pad it becomes almost flat and allows for sleeping supine or on the side. Sturdy double stitching. Also felt windproof and insulated against very windy conditions. Loved the net straps. Not very lightweight but would not sleep in anything else now. Would recommend adding extra straps as the rope included is not enough-had to use my own.

Excellent!!!
I own several hammocks. This one is by far my favorite. It's very tough, very comfortable and is my first choice when backpacking overnight. Workmanship is quality. Add a tarp over it and a foam mat under it, a sleeping back and a couple well placed trees, and you can camp on any ground. If it rains, so what? You're high and dry. Buggy? The screen keeps you comfortably bug free. You can't ask for more.

Maybe I got a used, returned one? 🤔
Took this hammok (without checking it out first) on the trip into lake superior provincial park. Bloody thing had holes throughout where it "seamed" to have poor stitching. It was a nice hammok aside from getting eaten alive at night due to mosquitos coming in the openings.Lesson learned. Try it out before taking into the woods. I'll probably just go get one from MEC so I don't have these issues. Too bad. I liked the design
