Rugged Ridge | Third Brake Light Ring, LED | 11585.04

I bought this to use because my 33" tire mandated the removal of the stock 3 brake light. Installation is simple and fits as it should. I will say that the description says minimum wheel size is 15" and that indeed is the truth. I run 33 X 12.5 X 15 tires and the light is just barely visible through my spare wheel, but it is visible. The only caveat is if it will pass vehicle inspection. I asked someone that does inspections and he said the wording is up for a little interpretation. I have a little over a year until my next inspection, and I'm working on homemade solution to display a DOT approved 3rd brake light.Bottom line, I love the look and would purchase it again.

Had this on my rubicon and it was awesome. Now I have a new bronco and the oversized spare dod not clear the third brake light. Not many options for the new bronco to add this spare tire light and the ones that are available are pricey with mixed reviews. The jeep this is made for has a different wheel hole pattern then the bronco so I cut the middle out with a hole saw to clear the camera and then drilled three holes to match the bronco wheel pattern. It works great and the plastic is easy to drill.

This is the second brake light ring I’ve purchased for my 2016 jku Sahara. The first one was from Quadratec, and I didn’t realize there were 4 distinct gaps in the ring where there was not an led until after I installed it. I tried to position the gaps behind the rim spokes where they wouldn’t be seen but that didn’t work. I began looking for a brake light ring that didn’t have any gaps and found this one. This one arrived on time, and after installing it I couldn’t be happier. There are no gaps in the led’s, and it looks great. It truly is “plug and play” and came with the necessary adapter. I’ve had it on my jeep for several months and have had no issues with it. Excellent product.

I had to clip off clip and wire it on my tj and thought wiring up was easy but black on black wire did not work so black to red work.Glad I went went the higher priced led.

I bought 2 of these, one for my '03 TJ and one for my '17 JKU. I haven't installed the JKU yet, but the TJ was easy enough. I knocked a star off because neither of my 2 came with the "supplied butt connectors" which I needed for the install. When I couldn't find them in the first box, I opened the second one hoping it would have them, but none in there either.Looks great on the TJ and looking forward to installing on the JKU real soon. I'll update if any problems or anything worth noting.

So -- I'll start by saying I really like this brake light for several reasons. First -- I love the fact that it replaces the old 3rd brake light giving me more viewing area behind me. The other thing I like about this light is the "coolness" factor. It's kind of "hidden" until you hit the brake and anyone behind you is gonna say "man -- that's pretty cool" when they see your spare light up. Now - -why the 3 stars???? Couple reasons..... It looks a bit on the "cheap" side... its basically a plastic disk with LED's on it and some wire. Also the "LED"s have what looks like a pale what plastic over them.... I'll assume it's to protect the LED's, but it looks a bit odd. Now - If you have a spare that doesnt' have much space or you can't see through it -- then it wouldn't be an issue. But my spare has basically 5 large "spokes" so you can really see the LED's. The other thing that I didnt' like was when I went to install it -- the wire in the harness was not fully seated..... So I "connected' the harness to the jeeps harness the light didn't work. After checking a bit -- I discovered one of the two wires was not fully seated into the harness. I fixed it -- but I should have to. I'd say this is a 3.5 star item..... I'd buy again. See picture

Got it for my brother in law. He has a jeep and was looking at this on a different site. I saw what it was and popped the information in on Amazon and boom. It was a few dollars cheaper. Got it. Wrapped it. Put it under his tree for Christmas. Next day I saw hem getting help installing on his Jeep. He might of not needed any help if he had known "righty tighty lefty loosey"Anyways he got it done and he liked it.

I have several lights that are burnt out or just no longer working after 1 week of use.

Very easy to install, plug it in and put your spare back on. Very very bright nice closely spaced together LED light bulbs unlike the cheaper brands out there. This really looks and performs amazing.

Awesome product. Best on the market.

the wire could be of better quality and protective loom actually seal the connection into product, would also be nice if the ends of LED do not mate at opening of spaces in rim to hide what looks like a burnt out LED from view. will find out over next while if product stands up to weather and elements.
