Neat set of stones. Allows choosing a starting grit and progressing to a finer/harder finishing stone. I use them with a generic thin oil (3n1 works well enough for me). By using just light pressure and letting the grit do the work, I can maintain edge angle control and sharpening is fairly fast for my Mora 1095ish and ESEE 1095 steels. BTW, I sharpen backwards- I keep the blade stationary and bring the stones to the blade. Only criticism is that 400/800 and the 800/3000 stones should be as wide as the 8000/10000 stone (the 1 inch width is perfect). Study the pics in the description.

No they’re not $30 plus stones but they sure do sharpen close to one! I let them soak in water for 5 minutes before use. Took some pretty dull knives to shaving my arm hair no problem. I’d say that good enough. Just know your angle when sharpening and these will work just fine!
