Metalsmith Society’s Guide to Jewelry Making: Tips, Techniques & Tutorials For Soldering Silver, Stonesetting & Beyond

I’d absolutely recommend this book for someone starting out in jewelry making, or someone wishing to build some basic skills and learn very helpful tips and tricks. After learning a million great tips on the Metalsmith Society’s Instagram, I decided to get this book. I’m an established jeweler, but as someone who is self-taught there is a lot of knowledge I’m missing out on, and some of it has been game-changing. I’m so thankful to Corkie Bolton for starting this community, sharing her knowledge and passion, and putting all that in this handy book that’s about to end up in my studio very worn and loved and covered in silver dust.

Very happy with my purchase! I find myself using this book often for a reference with the information she has included at the end. From day 1 of teaching myself metalsmithing, Corkie Bolton and Metalsmith Society has been so helpful with the tips they provide in this book and online.

Corkie really lays out what you need and why you need it in beginner-friendly terms. If you're new to metalsmithing, you need this book! When you go on supplier sites, they expect you to know what you need--which, when you don't, is very overwhelming!!! With Corkie's book, you'll know what to order and how to avoid ordering something you don't need!! The explanations are supported by clear pictures and, oftentimes, links to videos demonstrating a technique or tip you never would have thought of! This book is a great mentor text for anyone beginning this journey!! Keep it near your bench!! Enjoy!

The Author clearly communicates supply lists and attainable projects with honesty and humor. I’m a long time follower of Corkie’s Metalsmith Society and she is a wealth of information. Highly recommend.

As a new metalsmither, this book has helped me immensely with the amount knowledge poured into it. Definitely worth the purchase! So many awesome tips and tricks.

Not only is this book lovely to look at with all of the amazing photos and graphics, but it is SO helpful. This is the perfect guide for any metalsmith/jewelry maker or anyone interested in getting into it. The tips in this book have saved me so much headache and have saved me from having to do my own trial and error on certain techniques. I also love all of the guided projects in the book! They are the perfect projects to try out different techniques I maybe don’t use as regularly and get more practice in! I can’t recommend this book enough!!

Great book, easy, comprehensive and each subject is nicely explained and covered

All the information you can need in one very helpful book.If you’re a newbie or have been silversmithing a long time, this book is entirely full of tips and tricks to guide you.

Dies ist ein großartiges Buch für Silberschmiede-Beginner mit vielen nützlichen Tipps, hilfreichen schrittweisen Anleitungen und hervorragender Strukturierung. Aber auch für Fortgeschrittene finden sich noch jede Menge Anregungen und Kniffe zur Verbesserung der eigenen Fertigkeiten. Das Buch ist auf englisch, was aber für mich keinerlei Probleme bereitet. Ich kann Corkies Buch nur wärmstens empfehlen!

I learned just about as much in this book as I learned in my first year of college, and the price is way better than paying 10,000$. No gate keeping here, I love this book is so informative and has projects to work on. Amazing book for beginners.

The media could not be loaded.  I’m returning the book because it’s damaged. They didn’t wrap it with anything and just put it in the mailing bag. The quality of the book is bad. It’s a jewelry book, supposed to be a good strong book. I feel like it will fall apart in less then a month.
