Good Color changing filament... When you get to it.
XVICO Multicolor PLA Filament. I wasn't expecting much from this Chinese filament. Not that Chinese filaments are bad, I just wasn't expecting it to be amazing.I was pleasantly surprised when it arrived. Quickly, I might add. Nearly single day shipping. The box is nothing special, common cardboard brown with black lettering. It was vacuum packed well, but in a non-resealable bag. A ziplock on there would have been nice, but it's not a deal breaker.First impressions of the filament out of the bag were good. It felt good, it wasn't brittle, it was a nice filament.I started with the basic PLA temp tower to get a feel for how hot this filament wanted to be printed. My Prusa i3 Mk3s is stock save for a hardened steel nozzle. I used the smooth PEI steel plate for all prints. The filament roll called for 190C to 210C. My temp tower disagreed. The best results came from 220C to 230C. This wasn't really a concern. Hardened steel nozzles sometimes require a little more heat. All prints were done at 230C on the nozzle and 60C on the bed and a .2mm layer height. The filament printed well. There was no bed adhesion issues. No real stringing to speak of. No blobs. Just smooth prints. What little stringing there is can be taken care of with a quick blast from a heat gun or a quick once over with a torch. Nothing you wouldn't see from a more premium filament.However... It's not all sunshine.. The color change. I feel when you buy a multicolor filament, you're doing it to get the color change effect. When this filament changes colors, it's a nice change. Its a smooth and gradual change. The effect is nice. The problem is, that change just doesn't happen fast enough. As you can see in the attched pictures, most of my prints are a single color. The ones that do change, only do a little bit. So my one problem with this filament is the slow color change.Overall, this is a great printing filament. It's on par with Inland and other Chinese Amazon brands I've used. The lack of a resealable bag and the slow change, however, keep me from giving this 5 stars. If I could give it 4.5 I would. It'll have to settle for 4 stars.

Slow color changing - Those "demo" objects are either SOLID or not from this spool.
If you want your objects that don't take 24+ hours to print to change colors, look elsewhere. This is not your filament. That said, this filament prints really well. It's the first spool that I bought for an Ender 3 that I rebuilt (better, stronger, faster). The colors on this run for METERS at a time with slowwwwww transitions. Just look at the side of the spool. That's accurate. You have layers and layers of the same or extremely similar color.Simple math shows that each color runs for about FORTY FEET:Current diameter of my spool = 6"Circumference = 18.85"Number of wraps ~ 25 (probably more, I'm not counting them)Bare Minimum amount of green filament left on this layer = 39.27'I'm currently about 90% done with a 12.84 meter / 7 hour print. It is a uniform color and has just barely changed hues from the last eight hour print that followed a two hour print. If the three items weren't right next to each other, you'd swear they're exactly the same. There is no way on earth that the demo objects in the photos were produced with *this* filament unless they're completely solid, 100+ hour prints.Don't get me wrong. It's still fun if you don't want all of your little objects to be all the same color. In fact, I printed a fake Igus-type cable chain - three painstaking links at a time - and it makes a very cool transition of color from one end to the other. However, it is extremely subtle.

WAY too much green!
It printed OK on my brand new Flashforge Finder. but kept clogging the nozzle.. but not sure if it was the machine or the the filament.Flashforge replaced the printer, and this one seems to be A LOT better... but now I'm kind of leary to use the 1/2 of this role that left... I REALLY don't want to open the nozzle up again. That would really tick me off to find out that this filament was not good... HOWEVER, what did print really had nice color... BUT... took forever to change from one color to the next. Very slow, unless you print something that is huge... which I really keep things to about 8" high.Other than that, seemed OK.

Good quality. Colors need to change sooner.
It printed very easy and very well. Just wish the colors changed more quickly. I got some color change on this print as there was about 1M of the orange left before it changed to purple before I started this print, but this is a 140MM object that did not change color again. You can't really make rainbow colored objects unless they are huge and 100% infill. You can just make random colored objects. Ie the color will eventually change from one object to the next but each object will pretty much be uniform in color. I think this is an issue for almost all "rainbow" filaments though unless they are labeled as "fast change" rainbow.

Garbage
Absolute garbage. I have used 12 different brands of filament and this is the only one I have never been able to finish a single print. It either breaks or gets tangled up. I don’t think I’d give this to my worse enemy. There are dozens of different brands out there. Save yourself the hassle and pick anything other than this unless your looking to waste hours upon hours on misprints. If that’s your thing the. Look no further you have found it!!it’s cost me $100 in misprints so far so it gets thrown in the trash. Fool me once shame on you fool me twice!!

This is fun stuff!
Behaved exactly as expected but I didn’t expect to be so delighted by the results. This is not just cool colors but good quality PLA in my opinion. These friction segments bend and flex to make a suction hose. The PLA is sturdy as you’d expect. If there was one thing I might change it while be to accelerate the change in color. It worked perfectly for this project but printing a single item is a little bit of a letdown because you want the change to be more pronounced (or shorter runs of color)
