104 watts of greatness
Update 2 - 01OCT2022 - Second Test (outside)Further to my first update below, I had a chance to test this projector outside on September 30th, and again using a Firestick Lite. I also used a 120" Elitescreens Yard Master 2 (purchased from Amazon at $299 - separate review to follow).First off, when it's light outside you can't see the projected image. To satisfy curiosity I tried using this at 4pm (before sundown at 7pm) and had to hold the projector about a foot from the screen just to see if it was even working. It's simply not bright enough to use until after sunset outside.Once the sun had set I waited a few minutes and that's when this thing really starts to shine, literally. The picture with the baseball was taken about 7.20pm - very clear. The picture of the movie was taken a few moments later. The picture of the main projector display image was at 7.30pm.As per my initial testing the picture quality, even at 120" was very good. Sports looked great as did the movies I tested. The sound remains a bit meh, especially outside where it gets lost, so worth pairing your input device with a Bluetooth speaker. All told, so far this projector has exceeded expectations.Update 1 - 16AUG2022 - First Test (inside)This is my first ever projector.I purchased this unit with the sole purpose of using it:1. Outdoors2. Off grid (camping)3. Streaming sports on Sportsnet and movies on Netflix, using an Amazon Firestick TV LiteFirst off, I don't do unboxing. However, I can confirm that this projector came in a box. It was safely packaged in its own little polystyrene enclave, and the screen came neatly packaged in a plastic bag. The cables (power cable, HDMI cable, dinosaur AV cable) came in their own separate carboard box. No issues with delivery whatsoever.I plugged the projector into a Bluetti EB240 solar generator, per the picture, and I can confirm it uses a steady 104 watts. For those of you not using it off grid, this might not mean much. For folks like me who plan to take it into the middle of nowhere and run it from a solar generator, it's a thing. Off the bat, the fan is somewhat noisy when there's no sound from the speakers, but it's not awful. If you plan to use this in a home theatre environment with no other ambient sound, during quiet scenes in a movie for example, you might be put off by the fan. If you're a casual user, or using it outside, or watching sports, it's not going to be bothersome. As soon as you start projecting and sound comes through the speakers, the fan is practically inaudible.Like most (budget) projectors, you're going to want to use as little keystone adjustment as possible. This projector has a manual focus lens, which works fine, and a manual vertical keystone adjustment that works ... however, it works at the expense of blurring out the top or the bottom of the screen, depending on which way you are adjusting. I would say that completely minor keystone tweaks are OK, but ideally you would want to adjust the height of your projector to project onto a screen or wall without having to use the keystone. For a 90+ inch image you'll need at least 7 feet of horizontal distance from the screen or wall and about 5 or so feet of height. Just be prepared to prop the projector on top of whatever comes in handy to make it work. I ended up using a random tote from my wife's sewing supplies in my testing.Per my quite specific reasons for purchase, I am solely interested in using this thing when we go camping in the Fall or Winter when the sun has gone down and there's no concerns with ambient light. What could be more amazing than watching the Canucks 2022/23 season home opener on October 22nd (an hour after sunset - I checked) on a 100" screen while sitting by a campfire and drinking an adult beverage? For $99 who's even going to care? Well, I do.So I plugged in my Amazon TV Firestick Lite into the HDMI port and powered it by one of the USB ports, per the picture. In selecting HDMI using the projector remote, the Firestick menu showed up immediately and I was able to run various tests of Sportsnet streams (go Jays) and Netflix. Both worked flawlessly. Got to say, I was surprised how smooth the action was on the sports. Nice clear, crisp image projected onto the included screen, which I had rather sloppily pinned to a wall in our spare room (you can see this in one of the pictures). Even with light shining through the non-blackout curtains, the image was a lot clearer than I thought it would be. Using this after dusk or in a darkened room would be a no-brainer for brightness. I will, however, post a subsequent update once I've had a chance to fully test it outdoors after dark.As for sound - it's not bad. With Sportsnet (and the dulcet tones of the legendary Buck Martinez - we love you Buck - gracing my testing) the sound was solid. At about 60% volume it was plenty loud enough. With Netflix, the sound was good but slightly less than what you really need for a movie, so I connected the Firestick via Bluetooth to a Bose mini soundlink - connected fine and sounded awesome. As the projector does not have built in Bluetooth (or WiFi - don't miss that part) you can easily make this a non-issue depending on your picture source. And that's it for the first update - it passed the initial testing with flying colours. Next update will be when it's used outdoors, off grid, streaming a sports game ...

Proyector bbb

Was good for a while.
I was impressed at first for the price the picture quality was decent. I was using it about once or twice a week for watching football. Then i turned it on one day and there appears to be a burn on the screen. Can't see anything on the lens so assume it's on the lamp. So lasted two months. Avoid.Update. After my review I was contacted by supplier who were very helpful. After several emails they offered me a new projector for my troubles. I can't really argue with that level of service so I have adjusted my review rating accordingly. Like I said the quality of the picture was good and I was happy until the issue with the burn.

Mini cinema at home
Ok so was thinking to myself, so it comes with hdmi, why not connect to the receiver as it’s already got the fire stick , PlayStation and blu ray connected therefore would be able to play the source from there and get the image as well as sound, but no, so had to resort in connecting a spare fire stick to the unit, and remember plug the sticks power source in or won’t work and then goto settings if stick and audio/video and turn OFF dolly plus sound or will not give sound. Once done you can watch all the content from the stick, Netflix, prime , Disney+ , paramount+… to be honest I’m only going to use for films not gaming as not wanting to unplug the hdmi from station every time want to use, so for the picture quality, now I like crisp clear imagers and takes a lot to impress me, but tbh did play Star Wars episode IV and was impressed with clarity of the picture- obviously can’t compare to the led tvs or a real cinematic screen but close enough. So from there out on frozen, (yes I know, frozen I hear you guys saying) just at the scene where sings let it go - and the picture there was almost perfect, but I want more than perfect and at this price unfortunately won’t get but near to it…. Then tried Netflix - Wednesday, and tbh not seen this on tv yet, so seeing it there wasn’t bad… however what i haven’t said yet, it never came with the screen as people suggested but read if you contact the seller they send a projection screen, well I have contacted and so we will see if they do or not. If not will have to purchase. And so at the moment When u was doing the setups I was propping it up on the box came with aiming at the white ceiling- but can’t watch a film like that - so why recommend a screen. Now for the sound, once turned the Dolby plus off on the stick the sound is emitted thru the projection box itself and actually not bad, what you get is HIFI sound. Still it’s not bad you just won’t get the effects but then again if you had a system you might. I’m hoping to somehow emit sound from the Sony amp and picture, but will see after 1st set up failed like that, had to be a way, now back to the sound, the fan noise is annoying almost like the ps4 fans when clogged with dust.Remote control is non responsive at best of times and unfortunately don’t come with batteries, will need 2AAA. And you know the wife actually took an interest and started saying it’s not bad , I think will need a screen when before she would say it’s a east of money, but we guys like this kind of stuff. So all I need now is the seller to send the projection screen an im good.
